Nashville is still big orange country and Vols far outnumber Bama fans. Of course every Bama fan in Nashville is going to be flaunting their crap, and it is not Nashvilles fault that all the Bama and Auburn grads move here when they graduate. Alabama is a shite hole with no jobs, they all take refuge in our state

The Titans are a shitty, shitty franchise. This would be pretty funny to watch. They have zero fans or presence in the state, maybe this would change that for a year or two.

What universe do you live in? The Titans have sold out every game in their existence and had a waiting list for season tickets of about 30,000 before the economy tanked. They are by far the most popular sports team, college or pro, in the state, at least in terms of ratings. They've been the super bowl and have won 13 or more games 3 or 4 times in the last 12 years.

Try peeking out of your east tennessee bubble.

Yes I was talking about Nashville. Knoxville is the only city that is more orange than Nashville.

If this deal goes through, I think it sets a pretty dangerous precedent. Has this ever been done before? ownership rights in a players contract?

Not that I know of in the last 25 years or so. Someone said that Shula did something similar with the dolphins a long time ago but idk the details. I do think it's a dangerous precedent but being a UT and titans fan Idc I really want this to happen so whatever it takes

Yes, I think we whiffed on Mario Williams due to this hysteria. Our QB play wasn't the issue last year. Hass is serviceable and Locker will be a badass. It's our D that needs help.

As a new Titans fan (because of Locker, so I'm extremely biased) but I agree with this. I thought that in the offseason, they should have focused on improving the interior line (Hutchinson helped, but striking out on those two Centers hurt), finding a defensive pass rusher (Mario Williams), and then maybe signing one of the good WR's that was on the market. Mark Anderson would be a decent signing as a DE. If that's the last free agent they sign, I'm guessing they target Konz in the first round and then a Safety in the second round.

nashville...i never said the vols werent the largest fanbase in the state...but if you add in all of the georgia, auburn, bama, kentucky, lsu, vandy, arkansas, florida, etc. that hate the vols they are way out numbered here. its even worse in memphis where the rebels have a ton of fans.

You are correct about the Nashville area. However, you get outside of Nashville and will find 80%-90% of the people are Vols fans (except Memphis).

This would bring East and West TN into the Titans camp and bring significant dollars. For example, doesn't the Knoxville TV market usually get the Colts games now?

I have gone to UT from 2007 to last year and we always got Titans when Titans and Colts were both on at the same time. Colts were always shown when not conflicting with Titans.

I've heard that Colts games were shown over Titans games at some point there (right after Manning got drafted and when the Titans were still a really young franchise) but thats not been the case the last few years.
