I was at the Nats game last night and my friend and I were discussing this. White fans (mostly middle aged or a little older) and nearly all white and latin players.

Especially considering the NBA is 80% black and the US itself is 75% white...

Because eugenics within slave plantations is what caused the NBA's demographics.

Posted this in the Adam Jones thread yesterday. And there's no way I'm touching that clickbait

The demographics of MLB are actually pretty close to those of the US. 60% white, 28% Hispanic 9% black and 3% Asian in MLB vs approx 61% white, 17% Hispanic, 12% black, 5% Asian in the US

I was thinking the same thing. Just because it's not dominated by black athletes it's called a white man's games.

I've never understood the idea of social concern for the players or athletes...

We're not talking cronyism or old boy network or nepotism or whatever stuff that exists outside the resume...in getting ahead in sports businesses or not getting a real look from organizations to get a job in the front office.

But sports performance is strictly the resume, what you did and what you can do.

Sports field is not a level playing field in any sport...hell, I would have loved to have had someone pay for the Bolleteri tennis academy year-round for me like Andre Agassi had. Or lived on a golf course growing up so I could be Rory.

But everyone has some sports opportunity. Doesn't take $$$ to play H.S. football, basketball and baseball.

I remember when MLB started their urban initiative to build more LL baseball fields in the inner-cities (which is great, kids should have a nice field besides a street corner or sandlot...but kids should also have other more vital things...like good clothes, clean water, good food at school, etc.) Making future MLBers isn't really a pressing national concern.

But baseball kept saying, "we need to have more African-American players in baseball, we need to solve this problem."

What? Why? What is this need? If white people can be the overwhelming predominant viewers watching two major sports with overwhelming predominant black athletes...

I think black spectators can handle watching one sport with predominately white players. This isn't the 1950's.

Which is why that article you posted was so racist...insinuating...baseball is purposefully excluding black athletes by not providing more opportunities to kids and that black people don't like baseball because black spectators won't watch a sport unless they see a majority of black players on the field. So, its become defacto segregation...That's pretty racist and a very dubious assertion by the author.

Howard Bryant, the author, is a racist, piece of shite human being and known spousal abuser...how he even has a job is beyond me. He's also a lousy writer, technically speaking. No one should give anything this cretin says or writes a second thought.

Heck, even the HBCUs in Georgia have baseball teams that are mostly Hispanic and white.

The last thing I would think when I watch a Texas Rangers game is "The Whiteness of Baseball". Shut up SJW's.
