In the first 6 games of 2014: 5-1
Romo: 131/191 (68.6%), 1510 yards, 7.91 YPA, 11 TDs, 5 INTs
Played against SF (5th), Ten (27th), Rams (17th), NOLA (31st), Houston (16th), and Seattle (1st) --- worst game vs SF (1TD/3INT)

Dak: 125/182 (68.7%), 1486 yards, 8.17 YPA, 7 TDs, 1 INT
Played against NYG (19th), Wash (21st), Chicago (11th), SF (27th), Cincy (15th), and GB (10th)

Murray: 158 carries, 785 yards, 4.97YPC, 6 TDs, 4 FumL; 21 receptions, 155 receiving yards

Elliott: 137 carries, 703 yards, 5.13YPC, 5 TDs, 1 FumL; 11 receptions, 98 receiving yards

So the RB play is near identical, but outside of Romo's one bad game vs SF which ruins his TD:INT ratio he played better.

Issue is, which Romo do you get? One hit from retirement Romo or 2014 Romo.

The million dollar question, but you never get the answer if you don't put him out there. You either get a better QB, or find out Romo's done and put Dak back out there and things continue as they are now.

So New England should have kept starting Matt Cassel?

I'm not totally against what you're saying but are you comparing Tom Brady to Tony Romo?

Not a Dallas fan, but I think this situation is pretty simple. It should be taken game by game, as long as the team keeps playing well and winning, nothing should be changed. You risk disrupting chemistry by making a change.

Would you like to compare their stats? You'd be surprised at the similarities.

As a Cowboys fan, the only way I want Tony on that field is if Dak goes down with an injury. I'll take the sentiments of Aikman, Staubach, Favre and pretty much every other former QB that has talked about this situation over a message board poster.

You have one of the hottest hands out there, you don't put it on the bench just because you have a $25+ million investment dying on the sidelines.

The other reason why Dak hasn't run the ball much on those zone reads is because no one on that sideline wants Sanchez on that field except for Sanchez, and hell even he may enjoy watching at this point. Even if he doesn't run it much, you still have to account for that option regardless

He's not a hot hand. He's a game manager. People act like he's out there slinging it around shredding secondaries.

Yea sure let's do that.

I'll start. 4 Super Bowl wins. 22 Playoff wins.

Tom Brady has averaged 300 yards passing 4 times in his career (i am counting 298 last year), Romo has 1. For his career 40 ypg more

Brady TD to INT: 3:1 basically
Tony: 2:1

Romo has a slight advantage in completion percentage by 2%

So in other words, they aren't that close, as Brady has also been extremely durable, unlike Romo

Pretty much, the hot hand is Elliott and the OL. They're running over everyone.

Certainly explains a lot. So, did Romo go 5-1 last year with this D, which is relatively the same as it was last year? Maybe the D is better because the QB didn't throw 7 INTs in four games this year? Just a thought.

I would? Romo has 1/2 as many playoff wins as GOAT has Super Bowl rings. Sound very similar.

If you're basing this off of Romo's 2015 season where he was injured the vast majority of it, then what's your point? A better metric is 2014 considering a completely healthy Romo is expected to return this season.

Why do you think a player that hasn't played a snap after 6 weeks is going to be "completely healthy"?

I see what you're saying and I agree, but you can't look at the product they're putting on the field and guarantee Romo will be as good or better for it. Romo has never had a turnover-less streak like Dak. The team has rarely been this good as a whole under Romo. I think you ride the wave and if the team starts underperforming, then you look for the change and let Romo try and spark them

Dak is a game manager and Romo is the better QB. You start Romo until he isn't the better QB.

I'm not going to argue who is better between Dak and Tony.

But I will argue that they can win the NFC with either one.

And that's why they shouldn't trade Romo at any point this season. We've seen how shitty it can get with Brandon Weeden or whoever TF back there. Keep both, and if one gets hurt, you are still in good shape.

I'd start Dak until he struggles, though. Ride the momentum.

Dallas leads the league in time of possession which keeps that average(talentwise) defense on the sideline. The opposite of what Kelly is doing with his offense at San Francisco.

By the time he returns, it will be longer than 6 weeks last I checked. They're not rushing him back out there at all. No need to rush him due to their current standing anyway.
