1) This is non-news to Ducks fans, it was known for a few weeks now that there were issues with a math class, and he needed to finish that up during summer session.
2) With the spring camp that Jeff Lockie had, many of us felt that this would be a battle all through the fall, and might not be decided until both guys got game action.
3) Oregon is probably not beating Michigan State in East Lansing in W2. Too early in the season with a new QB. Most fans are hoping Oregon wins the North division and the PAC 12 title game to go to the Rose Bowl.

Vernon Adams is a very accomplished quarterback, but I wouldn't say this derails Oregon's season if Adams is ineligible.
Jeff Lockie is more than an adequate option at quarterback.
