While we still await the human polls, the computer polls are pretty much locked in. Alabama is #1, Ohio State is a clear cut #2 in the computers, and despite all of the talk about their schedule, Washington is actually #3 with Clemson #4.

More important than just their nominal rankings, the BCS rankings would give Ohio State a .960 ranking while Washington would have a .900 ranking and Clemson would have a .880 ranking. That lead for Ohio State would essentially be insurmountable in the human polls.

For as much grief as the CFP committee gets - and rightfully so especially outside of the top 4 teams - the BCS rankings and even the old 1 vs 2 matchup wouldn't get rid of Ohio State.

I always thought keep the BCS rankings and just put the top 4 or 8 in a playoff

I hate the committee approach, but the committee seems to always agree with the BCS on the final 4 teams.

That's false. The Colley Matrix rankings haven't even been released yet nor has the human polls which made up 2/3 of the old BCS formula.

I plugged in the conference championship results into the Colley Matrix and used those numbers.

I'm 100% confident the results will be as I listed in the OP. I'll update the "official" results as the human polls come in, but the edge those 4 teams have in the computers make them a lock for those spots in the final rankings.

So nothing's changed? Except for adding two more BCS teams.

Committee is sort of a joke. A facade. Like the BCS, they just mimic the polls.

It's still basically a poll system.

Which is fine. There is no ideal way to crown a champion when you have 124 eligible teams and only 12 regular season games.

Well Ohio State's lead in the computers is why they're a lock for #2, so the old BCS is not basically a poll system.
