The general consensus is the judge knows how he is going to rule and is heavily pushing the NFL to relent on their 4 games and Wells Report must be agreed to stance.

Berman: "There is a bit of a quantum leap from the finding of Mr. Wells to the finding of Mr. Goodell." (from general awareness to scheme)

quote:

Berman: "I believe some arbitration awards have been vacated" because a witness was not allowed to be called without explanation.

quote:

Berman: "There are some basic procedures of fairness that have to be followed.... You got to let someone make their case."

Trust me, Sept 4th can't come fast enough. This entire thing is idiotic and overblown.

This is why the NFL gets crushed in court. They don't get this part. Like having an established penalty for certain conduct, and then changing the penalty and applying a different standard.

The NFL has different definitions for independent and unbiased than the rest of the corporate world

It's just getting more ridiculous every time

There is a reason I avoid saying the word independence in any of my audits ha.

Segregation of duties is missing from theirs too

And just because the CBA gives him the authority to punish and then be the appealer, doesn't make it a best business practice.

Furthermore, if it was such a big deal, the NFL would have had proper controls in place to prevent it. Then, it turns out the NFL knew about it before the game and tried to catch them in the act instead of stopping it from happening

I'm no fan of the Patriots, but I agree. If fans of other teams were even remotely rational, they would recognize that this was absolutely no big deal and should have been a fine.

What's up with the report that Brady is now willing to accept to a reduced suspension, as long as it is for the coverup?

Could be way off here, but that feels like a nice move by Brady's team to show that he's willing to accept some form of punishment, knowing the NFL wouldn't go for that. This makes him come out looking better than the NFL on behalf of the judge, which may buy him something.

I base that on nothing, just seems like something smart I came up with in my head.

Seems kind of weird. So he's willing to concede that he was not completely cooperative with the investigation, yet Pats fans previously said he was completely cooperative?

They are supposed to be negotiating in good faith. NFL is saying he has to admit to being guilty, which isn't likely to appease the courts

Basically the NFL is saying that he has to admit to perjuring himself... Not really in good faith

Uh, no that isn't what pats fans have said.

He's fully admitted to not turning his phone over to the NFL

Brady allegedly was "generally aware" of possible tampering with footballs to gain a competitive advantage. He's suspended 4 games. Last seasons the Vikings and Panthers were actually caught on tape warming footballs during a game to gain a competitive advantage. The punishment was a memo sent by the NFL telling them not to do that again. It's all a big joke. All of it

Would you turn your private phone over to the NFL & Roger Goodell? I wouldn't under any circumstance. These are the people that would potentially leak anything to the press that is on your phone so it would help their case no matter what it was. Anyone in their right mind knows not to trust Goodell & the NFL after what they have pulled over the last 5 years.

They sound eerily similar to whiny saints fans during bountygate.

Every offseason since Goodel took over it is some ridiculous headline.

Are they just trying to bury the whole injury lawsuit thing while games aren't being play?
