Dallas hasn't always had a shitty defense. Top 10 for 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2009. Mediocre in some years. Bad in some years.
Ok out of all those years, 2007 was prob the only realistic one where we had a chance. We lost to the Superbowl champs that year. People want to remember Romo choking, but what I remember most is Patrick Crayton dropping 2 crucial passes that hit him right in the chest. One in the endzone in the 4th quarter.
The difference in Romo and Eli that year.....David Tyree making a miracle Spider-Man catch. Patrick Crayton going derp twice.
Team sport.

I agree and I guess I understand. the problem then lies in the fact that nearly no Boys fans want ESPN sunshine pumping us. it gets old to us too

You guys were solid from 2003-2009, mediocre ever since.
apparently you weren't really paying attention in 2003, 04 and 05.
We got 2nd place in our division in 03, but we were far from solid.

Man some people in my circle keep saying "but Romo is surrounded with all that talent."
People are mistaking talent for notoriety. They know a lot of Cowboys names..... But that doesn't mean they are being real productive.

What espn sunshine pumping? For the past few years just about every NFL analyst laughs at the cowboys and thinks they are a joke.
People say this based on the 90's when the Cowboys were everywhere because they were the premier team in the league.
Hasn't been that way in a while

so you'll admit that the stigma still surrounds the franchise?

I was just going off their record.

So you figured 6-10 in 2004 was "solid?"

No. I was being lazy and didn't feel like saying you guys sucked arse in that one year.
re: The Myth of Tony RomoPosted by WinnPtiger on 10/9/13 at 2:57 pm to Sader1990
but yet you're still here talking about the Quarterback of the 2-3 Dallas Cowboys
re: The Myth of Tony RomoPosted by Finkle is Einhorn on 10/9/13 at 3:02 pm to WinnPtiger
These non cowboy fans sure do watch a lot of cowboy games so they can give an informed opinion about their Qb and team without sounding stupid

So since Brees went 7-9 and damn near led the league in picks, it's because his team was weak. When Dallas does similar shite, it's all Romos fault.
Well, Brees' team did have the worst d ever, so that's probably a good excuse
Thing I don't get is why a lot of Cowboys fans want to compare Drew and Romo. I honestly don't even dislike Romo, but at this point in their careers I'd say Brees probably shouldn't be compared to Romo.

Hard to miss when they are on national television a good bit.

It's a fair comparison. If Drew Brees is a God and goes 7-9 with that many INTs, why is Romo expected to win a Superbowl with a similar squad, even though you know, he's not on Brees's level?
Dude gets held to a double standard more than just about anybody, because he's the QB of the Cowboys. I'm not crying about it, just stating a fact.

Tony Romo is a decent QB...he's just not the one that can lead Dallas to a Super Bowl.
People only like him because he earns them points in their fantasy football league. If not for that, they'd be calling for his head.
Vinny Testaverde would have been a similar case had he been playing during the hey-day of social media.

Based on what? A ton of mediocre QBs have won the Super Bowl, and Romo is better than mediocre.

No head coach and the worst defense in NFL history is far from a "fair comparison"

Based on him choking in the 4th quarter when it matters the most.
