For the 1st round pick for signing Ervin Santana, and for making our farm system a mainstay in the top 5 in baseball, and for giving us Dayton Moore

unless we do the whole qualifying offer thing, which is entirely possible given the injury history of our pitching staff. Then the 1st rounder comes back to us.

Not yet, but no one can deny that his eye for talent and we have one of the top farm systems in baseball, and after finishing 10 games above .500 last year we should improve by at least 10 games and finish 20 over .500 also he was able to flip Ervin Santana for4 a 1st round pick knowing his performance last season is not repeatable

Dayton Moore sure is a genius for trading away Odorizzi and Myers, huh?

1st round of a baseball draft doesn't mean much, it's so hard to project baseball players

it does when you're the braves and you don't have money to spend on free agents because uptons.

It doesn't do much good when you ship them off for "win now" pieces and still don't win.

The pitching prospects haven't arrived yet, but will this year.

Kyle Zimmer top 25 prospect
Yorlando Ventura (compared to Pedro Martinez, and throw 100mph deep into games)
Danny Duffy

Not sure what this has to do with the draft.

It does if you can scout players. In last years MLB draft Moore selected Hunter Dozier with 1st round pick, and many had him projected to go late 1st round/early second. Moore was able to sign him for half the slot value of 17th pick and use that pool money for later in the draft to select people scouts projected were not going to sign. Little did these idiots know the Royals ended up selecting Sean Meanea who was a projected top 10 pick but fell due to injury concerns and now scouts in royals camp are drooling over how good Menaea looks after recovering from surgery. So essentially Moore got two 1st round picks.

The Royals had the depth deal Myers people forget the Royals already had position players, the only thing they're lacking was MLB ready pitching and by getting Shields he was able to help the Royals contend while prospects develop , and assuming Shields leaves (almost certain) we now having pitching to take over

Alex Gordon
Eric Hosmer
Mike Moustakas
Salvador Perez
Omar Infante
Lorenzo Cain
Alcedies Escobar

One pick makes you a top 5 farm system?

You're obviously confused the Royals led MLB in gold glove winners (5 finalists out of 9 positions) Salvador Perez, Alex Gordon, and Eric Hosmer last season all players we drafted , and we had 3 all stars last season Greg Holland (best closer in baseball and the stats back it up, it's not Craig K.) , Alex Gordon, and Salvador Perez
