Caught a few minutes of Sports Shorts leaving the gym yesterday and man this show is just fricking terrible. Joel Davis is a massive tool and has no business being on the radio giving his insanely stupid opinions.
Seriously, at one point yesterday he was claiming with his injured rotator cuff he could still throw the ball better than Brees and later in the show they were going out to the parking lot to prove it, I didn't stay tuned in to see how that ended for Joel though.
Ronnie Rantz is also just a great big ball of hot air that offers nothing but to tell you what he did over the weekend.
Baton Rouge has some lousy shows, but this is easily the worst of the bunch. I think its only done so Ronnie can eat somewhere for free once a week.

Man, you are speaking the truth. That show is a black hole of entertainment and information. Joel Davis is so dumb, he must have to be reminded to breathe.
At least they're talking about Southern athletics on the Jaguar Journal and that's something there's an audience for in Baton Rouge. What do these idiots bring to the table that a bunch of other shows aren't covering? There are plenty of people giving half-assed dumb opinions about LSU and the Saints.

I saw Ronnie at L'Auberge when I was drunk, drunk, drunk one night. I thought about going up to him and telling him what an idiot he was and how much his show sucked, then I realized: 1) My wife would be beyond mortified by that kind of behavior 2) Going up and insulting strangers while drunk is extremely trashy 3) Absolutely nothing good could come from the interaction. It's not like he would say "Gee, I need to follow the advice of that guy who smelled like bourbon and stop sucking so damn much"

I can usually put up terrible radio show hosts if they are somewhat entertaining but joel davis is one that i absolutely cannot stand listening to. If it is just ronnie rantz and buzzy hydell i'll listen, but once joel davis starts talking i change the channel. I've actually been in the car with people who have done the same.

I'm anything but an internet tough guy. I have a professional job and I have a good reputation in it. That's another great reason for not starting crap in a casino while drunk.

It would be great for the whole city if Southern improved, not just in athletics. It's unfortunate to hear Reggie talking more about the problems and sanctions they've had over the years than athletics. Coach Odoms has done a good job since stepping in though.

I know all you hard asses love to bash local radio, but I dont mind sports shorts radio at all. I like the combo of Rantz, Haydel, and Davis. Pretty funny.
