As 31, Vol, Okie, Hull and myself have embarked and completed our annual Minor League Baseball tour, I have kept detailed scouting reports on each and every player in the Braves minor league system. Some are known to be up to 25 pages long full of swing tendencies, breakdown of throwing mechanics, and even nudies of their significant others/side pieces. But for today, I'll keep the notes short and sweet.

I'll start at 20 and work myself to the top prospect in the organization, according to myself. Also, I did not include this years draft picks or international signings:

20. Andrew Thurman, SP, A+, 23 years old

2.36 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, 6.8 K/9, 1.8 BB/9, 8.9 H/9 in 34 IP

Thurman was the 3rd piece that came over in the Gattis deal and has been together very good numbers, albeit against mostly younger competition. We'll see him move up to AA at some point in the 2nd half and at best will end up as an innings eater at the back end of the rotation for the big club.

19. Mauricio Cabrera, RP, A+, 21 years old

6.18 ERA, 1.63 WHIP, 7.5 K/9, 5.2 BB/9, 9.4 K/9 in 27 IP

He was once considered to be one of the brightest prospects in the organization, let's just all be glad this system has been replenished. After working as a starter for the majority of the career, he's found himself in the bullpen for Carolina and the results have not been pretty yet. But he has a fastball that can reach triple digits and has a decent slider, so let's hope he can cut down on the walks and end up being a decent bullpen piece for us in 2017.

18. Max Povse, SP, A+, 21 years old

3.94 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, 7.3 K/9, 3.0 BB/9, 8.7 H/9 in 64 IP

Max was last years 3rd round pick, and he is tall as shite at 6'8. He performed very well over 60 innings in A ball this year before being promoted to Carolina, where he has gotten tore up to the tune of 11 ER in just 4.1 IP. But he for the most part has been consistently good in his pro career and could see himself in an innings eater role for the rotation in a couple of years. But the more likely scenario due to the surplus of starting pitching, is developing him as much as possible and then including him in a trade.

17. Juan Yepez 1B/3B, Rk, 17 years old

0 HR, 6 BB, 14 K, 1 SB, .308 AVG, .866 OPS in 39 AB

Juan was an international signing last year and is just now making his pro debut in the GCL. Not a whole lot is known on Yepez yet, other than him having raw power. His ranking here is all on upside, and we'll have a better understanding of him and his game at the end of the year going into next year, but he has been solid in his brief stint.

16. Dilmer Mejia, SP, Rk, 17 years old

4.35 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, 7.8 K/9, 2.6 BB/9, 8.7 H/9 in 10 IP

Mejia was an international signing in 2013 and has performed very well up until this point. in 84 innings split between the DOSL and GCL he is only walking 1.9 hitters per 9 innings which is outstanding. He'll be an interesting name to keep an eye on the next couple years as he still only has 24 innings under his belt in the GCL, but the results have been there so far.

15. Arodys Vizcaino, RP, MLB, 24 years old

He only has 9 innings under his belt this year after being suspended for PEDs, but we all know his story. The fastball plays and let's hope he can be a reliable bullpen piece as this team starts to put together a competitive ballclub in the coming years.

14. Dustin Peterson, LF, A+, 20 years old

5 HR, 26 BB, 46 K, 3 SB, .271 AVG, .739 OPS in 221 ABs

He was acquired from the Padres this past offseason and while he played the hot corner in their system, the Braves have moved him to LF. While posting a .681 and .634 OPS in his first couple seasons after being drafted in the 2nd round in 2013, he has put together his best season to date so far showing a little pop and the ability to take some walks. He's also cut down on the strikeouts by a pretty wide margin after striking out every 4.1 PA last year, he's at 5.4 this year. The talent is there, and he's starting to show it.

13. Rio Ruiz, 3B, AA, 21 years old

1 HR, 36 BB, 52 K, 1 SB, .222 AVG, .615 OPS in 225 ABs

Rio came over in the Gattis deal alongside Folty, and up until this year has been successful in his pro career. While the numbers have admittedly been shitty for the Braves so far, he improved in June going from a .571 OPS in April and .468 OPS in May to a .804 OPS in June. Let's hope he was just pressing earlier in the year and June is the start to him continuing a good start to the rest of the season. Other than June, the one other positive is his ability to take walks, even when he is struggling because his OBP is still above .330. I still believe in him as the future at 3B.

12. Ricardo Sanchez, SP, A, 18 years old

5.30 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, 7.1 K/9, 4.5 BB/9, 8.30 H/9 in 35 IP

Ricardo was acquired from the Angels this offseason after being an international signing out of Venezuela in 2013. The ceiling of this kid is a top of the rotation starter, as scouts believe he will end up with a mid 90s fastball with a plus curve. While the results this year have not been amazing, he's pitching as an 18 year old in A ball so I wouldn't worry about him all that much. He could have very easily been ranked much higher, but that goes to show how deep this system has gotten in the last year.

11. Lucas Sims, SP, A+, 21 years old

6.46 ERA, 1.63 WHIP, 8.3 K/9, 5.0 BB/9, 9.6 H/9 in 35 IP

This is probably the lowest Sims has ever been ranked in the Braves organizational prospect rankings, and he was even ranked as high as the 54th best prospect in baseball by Baseball Prospectus before the year, but for me you have to show results after a while, no matter how much talent you have. Don't get me wrong, the potential is still there for him to pitch at the top of the rotation and he is still very young, but the results this year just are not promising especially after a very pedestrian 2014.

10. Manny Banuelos, SP, MLB, 24 years old

2.29 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 7.5 K/9, 4.1 BB/9, 6.9 H/9 in 82 AAA IP, and we know about his scoreless start for the big club last week.

A former top 30 prospect in all of baseball just a few years back, Manny has seen a resurgence this year for the Braves. Never in his career has he been hit all that much with a 7.8 H/9 spread over 528 innings, he's dropped that number by almost an entire hit this year for the Braves. He's finally made it to the show, and I think we'll see him stick around for quite some time.

9. Tyrell Jenkins, SP, AA, 22 years old

3.00 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, 5.7 K/9, 4.00 BB/9, 8.10 H/9 in 93 IP

Tyrell was the "throw away" piece in the Heyward deal but he's been all but that. After being drafted 50th overall way back in 2010, Tyrell has lowered his ERA each of the last 4 years but staying healthy has been the issue. He's been healthy the entire year so let's pray he can finally finish a pro season without any issues. His peripherals show that his ERA is likely a bit lucky this year in his first season of AA ball, but is stuff is the real deal with 3 plus pitches including a fastball that can hang in the mid 90s. He's definitely here to stay.

8. Braxton Davidson, RF, A, 19 years old

6 HR, 53 BB, 79 K, 0 SB, .264 AVG, .787 OPS in 254 ABs

Last year's first round pick, he has shown an absolutely incredibly eye at the plate, already drawing 53 walks en route to a .397 OBP in the first half of the season. The power is slowing starting to show and I think he's about ready to break out in the power department. I'm really excited to see how this kid progresses, as I think he's well on his way to be listed in a lot of top 100 prospect lists and will be the first time in a while we see a first round pick develop into a long term impact player.

7. Mike Folty, SP/RP, MLB, 23 years old

Not going to spend a whole lot of time on Folty and he's technically not a prospect anymore but I wanted to include him in my list. We all know what type of stuff he has with all the makings to be a dominant reliever. Time will tell if the Braves bringing him up today to be a part of the pen is an indication on them giving up on him as a starter or if it is just the desperate need to find a bullpen arm, but we shall see. I would be surprised if he ends up as a starter again.

6. Mallex Smith, CF, AAA, 22 years old

2 HR, 29 BB, 48 K, 28 SB, .317 AVG, .774 OPS in 252 ABs

Mallex has finally started to get some love as of late after not getting much at all in prospect lists before the season started, but he's the real deal. Undersized, Mallex knows how to use his speed to his advantage and has always showed the ability to get on base at an excellent clip, sitting at .384 OBP in his career. He's struggled a bit in his short stint after being called up to AAA last month but it's only been 60 PA up to this point. His bat and speed play, and he'll be a part of the major league squad hitting at the top of the lineup for many years to come.

5. Touki Toussaint, SP, A, 19 years old

3.17 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, 6.7 K/9, 4.1 BB/9, 6.3 H/9 in 48 IP

We know Toussaint's story now and it's still amazing how we were able to get him a year after he was drafted 16th overall. Command is the one thing scouts had questioned but he's already dropped it a run and a half over last year and you've seen it with the rest of the numbers. Hitters are going to have a tough time getting hits off of him with a plus fastball and even better curve. He's still a project, but a project that comes with a huge payoff.

4. Max Fried, SP, hurt, 21 years old

Max was the prize of the Upton deal but has yet to pitch for the organization due to TJ surgery. He was the 7th overall selection in the 2012 draft and was ranked around the top 50 overall prospects by all major publications before the 2014 year that ended in season ending surgery after only 10 innings pitched. He's going to need some extra time to develop after this injury and missing valuable time, but he has the stuff to be a legit ace in this league.

3. Matt Wisler, SP, MLB, 22 years old

3.13 ERA, 1.26 ERA, 5.5 K/9, 2.3 BB/9, 9.0 H/9 in 23 MLB IP

Another prospect acquired from the Padres this offseason making that 3 of my top 6 prospects, we have now all seen Wisler's capabilities. While he doesn't have ace type stuff, he has the tools to be a very successful 2 or 3 for this rotation for many years.

2. Jose Peraza, 2B/SS, AAA, 21 years old

3 HR, 12 BB, 32 K, 22 SB, .288 AVG, .682 OPS in 312 ABs

Pretty crazy the success that he has had in the upper levels despite being one of the youngest players in the league. He has a lot going for him. Plus defense, plus bat tool, plus speed. The only thing that has stopped him from being one of the top prospects in all of baseball is his inability to take a walk. But even so, he's going to be a very productive major league player that could compete for batting titles. Whether that will be for this team or someone else is yet to be seen.

1. Ozhaino Albies, SS, A, 18 years old

0 HR, 27 BB, 39 K, 25 SB, .333 AVG, .814 OPS in 318 ABs

All we have here is a younger version of Peraza but with the ability to have a good eye at the plate. He is young, but has skyrocketed onto the scene and will be in the top half of all major publications top prospects going into next year. Special, special player and will move quickly through the system.

Hopefully Albies gets moved up to Carolina soon, he's obviously not being challenged at Rome. Can't wait to see him starting at 2B for us in a couple years. Mallex leading off and Albies in the #2 spot should hopefully be a nice speedy 1/2 punch at the top of the lineup for us, with solid OBP.

It's a shame that bus accident happened to the Carolina team, Peterson hasn't been quite the same since that accident.

One guy I think you are missing that belongs at the end of the top 20 is Steve Janas. He developed a cutter this offseason and has been almost unhittable since. He lost a bunch of starts due to that Carolina wreck, but just moved up to AA and pitched a shutout. For the year (only 7 starts) he has a .42 ERA, .58 WHIP, with only 4 walks in 42 IP. It'll be interesting to watch how he does at AA the rest of the way.

Another guy not on your list I'm really interested in is Randy Ventura, a CF/OF prospect in the DSL. Much like Yepez he's a first year guy, but so far in 84 ABs he has a slash line of .405/.485/.488/.973 with 29 steals in 22 games and a 13/9 BB/K ratio. It's only the DSL, but he's been impressive so far.

Good work, Swamps.

Albies, Toussaint, Davidson, Smith and Peterson are probably the guys I'm most excited about.

Fried is a wild card as well who could be interesting to watch.

Davidson is probably my favorite bat. in the org right now though and Toussaint my favorite pitcher. Both guys I think have perennial all star capabilities. Really love Davidson's approach.

Does anyone else watch the games on mlb.tv through their Xbox? Mine sucks and keeps kicking me out of the game to the main mob.tv page.

Davidson is probably my favorite as well. He's solid as hell right now just solely due to his approach. Imagine when he comes into his body and swing a bit more and the power starts to come. He could be a stud, and he's ranked 8th for me. Amazing the turnaround for our system in the last year, all while throwing out a decent product on the field.

It's deep as hell. Can confidently say that I think most in the top 15ish will make it to the bigs at some point.
