On mobile but the Quintana trade rumors are heating up and Passan and others have said they expect him to be moved during the break.

A lot of chatter that Braves and Brewers are the front runners.

I am against trading for a pitcher but what are we thinking would be fair. Albies/Wentz/Ruiz?

Also Acuna hit a 428 foot homer tonight.

Out of all moves to make this is the one I really hope doesn't happen.

My untouchable list would be Acuna, Albies, Soroka, Allard, and Matian, trading any of those for Quintana and I'd be pretty upset. I'd like to think we can make a trade like this without giving up any of those guys given the strength of our system but we'll see I guess.

Trade and cash in Adams and Teheran for future players.

This would be idiotic.

I've seen the Astros and Yankees as being mentioned the primary suitors for Quintana. The articles are saying that the Chi Sox are looking for two "very top" prospects".

If Atlanta truly is in the hunt for Quintana, my interpretation of "very top" prospects is no worse than top 50. Going by the recent Baseball America rankings, then that would mean two of Acuna, Albies, Allard, Soroka, Wright, and Newcomb. You could probably throw in Maitan as well since I'm guessing that he is "only" ranked in the 70s due to his first pro season just now starting.

No thank you. I'll pass and wait for our arms to be big league ready.

dodged a bullet. The Cubs gave the Sox their versions of Acuna and Allard to get Quintana.

With as stocked as the cupboard is, I'm glad we are sitting tight. It's not worth giving up a piece of the future just for a shot at losing in the NLDS.

I think that had we traded for a player like Quintana, it wasn't going to be a short term move but to shore up a spot in the rotation for several years. I'm 99% confident that the front office is not in the market to make moves to make the playoffs this year.

Acuna's timeline has been absurdly aggressive.

Time spent at each level in the Age 18 and 19 seasons:

Acuna:

2016-
Rookie (2 games)
A (40 games)
Australian League (20 games)

2017-
A+ (28 games)
AA (57 games)
AAA (?)

Andruw:
1995-
A (139 games)

1996-
A+ (66 games)
AA (38 games)
AAA (12 games)
MLB (31 games)

I do think the Braves front office has pressure on them to make the playoffs before 2020. Coppy has mentioned that he does think the Braves need a proven starter added to the rotation. With Acuna going to AAA I think he will be our RF next year whenever we get another year of his team control. It would be stupid to make the same mistake we made with Heyward.

Law says Acuña is a much better/more complete hitter than Andrew was at that age. This kid has me super excited. Our Venezuela pipeline lookin sexy right now with Ender, Maitan, and Acuña
