Something along the lines of, "Look, all I know is we do not condone what he did. He has expressed deep remorse for what happened. He is serving a punishment, and any future issues could result in his removal from the team."
That'll work, he didn't have to actually answer the question.

No way in hell State was giving away that 5 Star beast. For those that haven't seen the video, he just barely jabs this huge black girl a couple times with his left hand. Mullen's answer was perfect & that's actually the exact answer I gave when someone asked me the same thing on FB. They weren't expecting such a good answer and I got 7 random "likes" on my reply & the guy who asked it never asked another word.

Except you're some no name moron. Mullen is the HC of a football team at an SEC school. So everything he said would be under a microscope.
What he said may have some validity to it, but you've gotta use better judgement than him.
