I want this guy gone. He used to play hard now he doesn't, his body language sucks, he doesn't really respect his manager, misses games for weird reasons in the middle of a pennant race, etc. Good riddance.

I totally agree. I spent a lot of time this summer in Dallas and followed the Rangers pretty close. I enjoy going to games, the park is nice, and the team plays good baseball. As much as I wanted to like Hamilton, I just couldn't get past his "I don't care" body language.

I know the season is a long grind, but he would go 1-4 with a popup with 2 on and just stand on first with his helmet off popping his gum. I think the Rangers got the best couple of years out of him, and now he will steadily decline.

Why is this? Serious question. I had a friend state that the Rangers needed to change managers. I do not know how you move the manager that led us to two world series. The friend feels that they would have won it all if not for Washington.

I am not sure. Wash is one of the most respected managers in baseball when it comes to his players and other players.

I think it was this relationship that saved his job during Cocaine gate.

But it became abundantly clear throughout the year that Hamilton was just tuning out Washington. Especially when Washington was trying to engage him after the shitty dropped fly ball in Oakland which he gave like 30% effort.

1. let Hamilton hit the market is another way of saying

ESTABLISH HIS VALUE.

PS: I would not have him on my team.

2. Washington was respected when he was with the A's. Even then, people who knew him were saying he would be a good manager some day.

Wow...I can't believe I am agreeing with you, Otto.

You are right on both accounts. But I do not think he returns to the Rangers.

Baseball is his job. Do you show up with bells on your toes every morning skipping around the office smiling and laughing like an idiot?

No, but I also don't call in sick claiming Red Bull withdrawal symptoms either.

If Josh gets a mega-deal elsewhere, just hope that he doesn't fall off the bandwagon and that he actually collects on it.
