Won't matter much, kinda like Romo going down again.. both teams are in for losing records.. hopefully it's not that serious.

possible the structure was just fricked and it was a ticking time bomb that nobody really knew about
this was a few years ago now but didn't he fall in the draft from top pick consideration to barely within the first round?

I'm talking off the top of my head, but I thought that was due to him having a bad combine/pro day.

Bunk,

Injuries often end football careers.

Most happen to kids we never hear about.
Only a lucky few have DNA and skill combo to play pro long enough to get the retirement. At least they make a small fortune in their blaze of glory.

Coach Zimmer said at a press conference that they sedated him at the hospital in order to do a MRI. My guess is that they gave him propofol. He was rushed to the hospital an ambulance. Ambulance with full sirens and lights.

Pretty bad if you have to be sedated for a MRI. My guess some sort of dislocation and broken bones in addition to ACL/MCL/LCL.

Shaun Hill was being held out, too. He would be next man up and the Vikings would go down the list of Free Agents before landing on Joel Stave to start a regular season game.

Stave has been horrible in preseason games and not that impressive in practice. He would have been waived if Bridgewater hadn't been hurt.

Talk locally is that Stave will never start unless Hill gets hurt and they intend to trade for a QB since Stave has been so unimpressive.

I hate to see that. He seems like a good young man and was actually turning into a solid player. They had to sedate him to do the MRI. This is a very serious injury. I really hope it's not career altering.

I find it absolutely insane that he suffered a compound fracture from a non-contact injury

Bridgewater has some pretty skinny bird legs.

ETA: was a knock on him coming out.

I'm a Titans fan who obviously wanted to win Week 1, but...

Mike Glennon to the rescue. The Bucs can recoup that 2nd they lost from the kicker. Do it Minny.

It's a seller's market and Mike Glennon is your man.

Wouldn't that be ironic.

Bridge water was coming to LSU until Mett committed then he went to Louisville instead.

I guess it was worse than we can imagine. He had a compound fracture. I don't get how you can do that if you aren't hit and didn't like jump up and down. I guess players barfed it was so bad.

I wonder if he has an underlying problem for a leg to do that on a drop back.

Perhaps I'm showing my ignorance here but a compound fracture without a prior medical issue seems like a real zebra. A tendon or ligament sure, but a broken bone (other than maybe a fibula or kneecap with dislocation) is surprising.
