The ejecting players needs to stop unless the hit is really bad

no it doesn't

The rule needs to be refined but there definitely needs to be a targetting penalty

The florida defender wasn't targeting, but they are calling any kind of helmet to helmet. Not all helmet to helmet contact is intentional, but you either call it or you don't.

ejecting players for a hit that isn't insanely late or cheap is stupid

so what constitutes a really bad hit. It is like a face mask. They are all treated the same. It is like a holding call. you dont penalize a player 2 yards because it was a minor hold and then another 10 as it was flagrant.

that was a good formed tackle.

just some whip lash that made it look like helmet-to-helmet.

I can see how the ref thought it was a foul at full speed but they didn't get it right on the review.

Like I said, the rule definitely needs to be tweaked. But there should be a rule that protects the head of players

they could just call it roughing and use it for accidental helmet to helmet. Targeting could be saved for clearly using the helmet as a weapon

And I'd be cool with that. I would be more cool with calling the 15 yard penalty and then reviewing to see if the player needs to get tossed out, not the other way around like it is right now

The defensive player's feet were both on the ground, and it looked like the QB may have dipped his shoulders leading to the helmet on helmet contact.

This had to be the worst call I have seen. Football is becoming so pussified.
