T or F: Out of all college QBs this year, Cardale looks to be best pro prospect

I say True.
Sure, Cardale is raw, but he has 3 things that you can't teach. You're either born with it or you're not.
1. Calmness under duress
2. Big Arm
3. Accuracy
NFL Comparisons:
I know many like to stick with same-race comparisons, but he really reminds me of Ben Roethlisberger.
Both are huge guys with big arms and are masterful at being calm and buying time in the pocket to make the throws.
College comparisons
I think he is a far and away better prospect than guys like Grayson, Mannion, Hundley, and Carden.
Winston: Cardale is much calmer under pressure than Winston IMO and has a stronger arm. Plus, I'm not sure that Winston is as teachable as Cardale. Winston's baggage certainly doesn't help.
Mariota: Cardale by far is a better physical prospect than Mariota. Mariota makes one look simple reads and doesn't go through progressions. He also has durability concerns IMO with his size. Mariota is a boom or bust guy IMO. AT his best, he adapts to the pro game well and becomes a taller Russell Wilson type prospect. At his worst, he is Jake Locker without the big arm. I think he's closer to Locker IMO.
What should Cardale do next?
I think he should go pro.
- If he comes back, he may not start.
- If he comes back and does start, he may work himself into the first round, which sounds great until you consider that he'll have to be drafted by terrible organizations and be expected to start right away.
- Cardale is one of those guys that needs to sit in the NFL for a year or two before being ready. If he goes this year, a good organization like the Pats, Cowboys, Saints, Steelers, or Chargers will draft him and allow him to sit a few years like Aaron Rodgers got to do.

This. He played great down the stretch but NFL defenses would eat him alive.

True, he is not a Jamarcus close either because this guy can actually run.

Solid post. I agree and have an upvote.

More of a Cam Newton if you ask me, only thing that he doesnt have of Cams game is the shifty juke moves.

Why ? Because he is a big black guy ?

False
Winston is the best prospect given the available information at this point.

Jamarcus' problem was that he made bad reads on defenses.
Jamarcus never looked as good as Cardale did against elite defenses---especially not that many elite teams in a row.
Plus, Jamarcus was drafted by a terrible organization and had to play immediately. I said Cardale isnt' ready to play immediately. He needs to sit a year or two and learn. PLus, I doubt Cardale has the same eating disorder and drug problem Jamarcus had.
Similar talents...yes. Similar QBs? no.

I like the kid, I think he is better option than Mariotta or Jameis. Would be a perfect project QB for a team like N.O. or San Diego to sit behind a great QB and learn for a few years. He wouldnt have the pressure to come in and produce immediately

I think he's nothing like Cam Newton. Cam wished he could throw the ball as accurately as Cardale did in college.
Cam is a lot more dependent on running. Cardale almost looked like he only runs as a last resort (aside from called plays by Urban)

False dude. It's Jameis.

Winston has a weaker arm.
Winston has baggage.
The only thing Winston has on Cardale is experience.
I'd take my chances of getting cardale in the 5th or 6th round than drafting Winston in the 1st or 2nd.

we've seen him play 3 games.
I mean, yeah he looks good but there are plenty QBs out there with a lot more of a body of work. Nobody is denying the dude is good, but stil...3 games.

Jameis has game, I dont think thats the queation over his head, its that the kid is a head case and is a dumb shite.

fricking this!!!
Might be a perfect opportunity for the Saints.

Cardale doesn't have anywhere close to feet or balance of Big Ben or Cam

Saying Cardale Jones is the best prospect is a bit of a stretch.
We have seen stuff similar to this a lot in the past. QB looks great for a stretch of a season, draft rating trending upward, the next season in college play like shite and ruin their stock.
Recent examples of this are Matt Barkley, Everett Golson, and even Winston to an extent.
For this reason, Jones should go pro and sell high while he can.
