The night Sportscenter has always been the most important one.

I can only speak for myself, but I'm far more likely to watch the midnight SportsCenter than the 6 PM one. I prefer him where he is.

Would prefer 10pm central time. Otherwise I'm asleep or working/commuting

Why? 6pm slot doesn't allow him to analyze each day in sports real time. I watch almost every night (given I typically work late).

Come home from class, study until SVP comes on, watch that beautiful bald maestro, fall asleep.

Repeat.

I don’t see what the significance of a 6pm sportscenter is. I get that much of the population is on the east coast, but 6pm et means very little viewers in the pacific and mountain zones as everyone is still at work. Even people in central tz are probably still coming home from work and not rushing to watch sports center (especially considering the new hosts).

The midnight show is way more important, as it has the opportunity to reach everyone, including east coasters who are nodding off in bed.

yep.

6pm sportscenter is almost useless as nothing of substance has usually happened before 6 in the world of sports.

10pm and midnight are where its at.

What sport does anything noteworthy before 6 EST on a weekday?

There's a reason ESPN figured they could put their experimental OP/ED/Political shows during the 5-6 PM hours. The working people can't/won't watch that crap anyway since they have real lives.. Work, family, kids, etc...

Employed sports fans are more likely to see a late sports show with SVP rather than a 5-6 afternoon sports show anyway.

TL/DR: 5-6 ESPN catering to do-nothings and hard core leftist political junkies.

And as shown in another thread, his show at midnight is doing over double what every single other nightly espn program does. He's not suffering.

The night sportscenter is the biggest slot, unfortunately. I'm never up for that though
