If I were starting a team I would take lebron. Curry is great but lebron can do so much more.

I don't know according to the stats when he's on Westbrook he's basically shut him down.

With a bit of a caveat-- you flip Lebron and Curry and both of their current teams get worse.

If true, only because they play different positions.

What sucks about it? The fact you have irrational hatred? It presents facts and a reasonable premise and discussion. I am sorry your period started early

Advanced stats for quail man

Lebron:

2015 PER= 25.3 USG= 37.6 WS 3.0

2016 PER= 28.5 USG 28.9 WS 2.8

Curry

2015 PER= 24.5 USG= 31.0 WS 3.9

2016 PER= 24.6 USG= 33.9 WS 1.0

this is good. looking at just last year because it's probably a bit more fair with the steph injury this postseason

LeBron: eFG% = 44, TS% = 49, WS = 3.0, ORating= 105, DRating = 99, VORP = 2.7

Steph: eFG%= 57, TS% = 61, WS = 3.9, ORating= 114, DRating = 102, VORP = 2.2

I don't doubt that LeBron is more valuable and that if you put him on any team he would improve that tear far more than Curry. So I guess it depends on what exactly you're looking for. The question you posed was

quote:

So the question is, is Curry truly better and more valuable in a situation where it is win or go home?

I think that's two different questions. I think LeBron is more valuable in the win/go home situation, and I think Curry is better just purely in a game winning situation because that involves shooting more than anything else (to really dumb it down to the lowest level).

Not really, the Cavs might be better in the long run because they could play Love the way he should be played instead of making him a set shooter (in the same way LeBron screwed up Bosh's career by forcing him to be a perimeter player and clear the lane) but would be hurt short term. The same is true for the Warriors- LeBron would completely alter what they do no more motion, etc because it would all boil down to LeBron driving.

I feel like you don't understand how good at passing and running an offense Lebron is. He might be one of the best 15 passers of all time.

I believe Curry is capable of higher peak performance than Lebron in this current era, but believe he's more interdependent on a surrounding cast that compliments his game. Again, this is evidenced by the fact that his game improved markedly once he had more pieces around him.

Why can't it be just that Curry hit his prime at the same time most players do. 26-28. Once his ankles started holding up he was able to fully produce at a superstar level. Which has been for about four years now. Prior to that perfect cast being around him

He is a excellent passer. The problem is unlike Curry who can move off ball and still terrorize your defense without messing up the flow of your offense LBJ prefers to hold on onto it himself to force the defense to react. Kinda like Barkley in the 90s.

Honestly, the only system he really doesn't make sense is for a team's best complimenting player to be a ball dominant guard who can't shoot from the perimeter to space the floor. The example being Dwyane Wade. In spite of this he was still able to lead Miami to 2 championships and 4 finals with such a bad fit as his sidekick.

Please be a troll. That might just be the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.

If I'm starting a team from scratch for next season, I take Lebron first

Correct. I don't disagree. Just threw FTs out there to see if any shite sticks to the wall.

It's not just the passing, its spacing the floor-- Curry's unprecedented range and accuracy warps a defense, LeBron-- while a better player-- doesn't allow players to play down low with him because it clogs the lane.

Those 3 players could never co-exist without sacrifices. So obviously the other 2 would logically sacrifice since Lebron was the best of the 3.
