The incident recently with his mcl sprain was a freak accident but it's not the first time he's had problem. He's been resilient these past few years since only playing 20-something games a few years ago but with the amount of games he's played over the past two years it looks as if it's caught up to him a bit. Got me thinking about all the other careers that were derailed by injuries or didn't amount to their potential.

Im not saying he isn't going to win any more rings or MVPs or HOF status. He may go down closer to the Larry Bird side of the things (3 rings in 13 years) than to the Grant Hill, Derrick Rose, Brandon Roy, T-Macs.

Will Stephs career be cut short because of his reoccurring leg injuries?

The ankles are an issue since he's already had to have surgery on that. This MCL sprain won't have any lingering effect.

He's not the most durable athlete but I don't think he's sustaining more injuries than other players of similar stature.

He's being reevaluated in two weeks. Big difference.

4 years ago, since then he missed 13 games.

he's not as injury prone as people think....and most importantly his game isn't based on athleticism.

Look at Larry Bird and his back. I'm not debating that he's been fine since then. I'm just wondering if others think his legs will hold up.

I think he means that Steph isn't beating people by running past them with pure speed or jumping over them, utilizing raw athleticism. He's shooting the lights out, which he learned to do.

He would be getting every shot blocked if he lost his athleticism

Everyone knows he's the best shooter of all time and yet he's shooting wide open 3s all the time, that doesn't happen by accident. His change of direction is as deadly as his shooting

but he is doing that. he's not just standing around. he's the PG. his speed is a big part of his game. how else do you think his short arse keeps getting open to shoot?

Well sure, he has to have requisite athleticism to be as great as he is, but what's the difference between him and John Wall? Wall's absolutely the better athlete but Curry's the better player, because of his skills, not his athleticism.

Watch CP3 now and then watch an 07-08 highlight reel. He's obviously lost a step, yet he's still highly effective. Think the only point being made is the game of IQ and shifts translates much better than being hyper athletic.

At the same time, God could give me his shooting accuracy at shooting tommorow and my short slow arse would be an awful NBA player because I can't jump, run, or get open

He has the quickest crossover and release in the NBA. His game is absolutely centered around athleticism. He wouldn't be able to get the shots off he does without it. There have been numerous spot shooters that can make open shots as well as he can. However, there aren't a lot of guys that can create shots like he can and that is due to his athleticism.

I guess part of my point is that shooting ability isn't given to anyone. Curry's as good as he is because he's worked at it more than anyone else ever has and not because of any inherent genetic gift that he was born with.

Eh, he def puts in the time but he's a pure shooter. He was def born with the innate ability to shot well. The work he puts in has made him the best, which is true for any player that is the best

Watched a segment on it recently comparing curry to other shooters and how quick he gets shots of comparatively. I don't know why you think that's funny. Or would you like to explain a better reason how a 6'3" guard has the ability to shoot over taller defenders with ease.
