Before today, I was all in on the general consensus that this will be a fairly comfortable OSU victory- cook isn't 100% and the MSU defense isn't reliable at all- but dantonio seems to thrive on games like this, and sometimes that is all it takes

Hope I'm wrong because that would significant damage what is shaping up to be the biggest OSU-UM game since 2006.

I doubt it. Cook will have "Bosa" tattooed on his arse by halftime.

I can't get a good read on this game 'cause OSU has played absoutely noone worth a damn and then MSU loses to Nebraska and should've lost to UM

No chance. I hate OSU as much as the next guy, but I don't see any way MSU beats them. Michigan maybe, but not because they're the better team.

The only thing that makes me nervous about this game is how confident I am about it

Only way to know for sure is to get Peej to weigh in.

I mean, the guy got LSU blown out, may have gotten Les Miles fired, got Peyton Manning benched, Trevone Boykin injured, turned a 46 point spread into a last minute thriller, and he did it in one weekend.

The key question here is can MSU keep Zeke in check and get pressure on JT with their D line? MSU's secondary is obviously a problem. I'm not sure about their LBs.

On the other side, I don't know what MSU's health status is with O line and RBs. LJ Scott can be a beast, but I think he has had some fumbling problems. Even if healthy, I don't think they can run on OSU. They didn't run on Mich, but I know they were banged up at the time.

Cook says he is fine. They will pick at you all day with that sideline route where he drops it into one on one coverage. It's almost impossible to stop. The receivers have been making insane catches every time I watch MSU.

Buckeyes 31, Spartans 21.

With Cook not being healthy, this game is going to suck. low scoring affair with OSU pulling away late and probably winning by 10-17 points

As a MSU fan I certainly wouldn't bet on it this year. I'm not convinced Cook will be 100% especially if he takes another hit. He looked to be in a lot of pain on Saturday. Our secondary is also so bad too after Copeland and Williamson went out with injuries for the year. That is the worst unit on our team due to transfers and recruiting busts and we lost the only capable people in it. We are starting a true freshman white guy and a walk-on from Canada who falls over at inopportune moments which is kind of something you want your Cornerbacks to avoid doing. MSU has been able to get by with their secondary because they have other units that are filled with talent but when you play an actual NFL caliber QB it's really hard to hide a subpar position unit.

MSU will have a chance to win if :

1) Cook has truly recovered to normal form
2) Their front 7 is able to contain Elliot early on to avoid a blowout
3) Hicks is sometimes a decent CB and he is coming off injury so they need him to come in and play better than he did in this game last year and for Montae Nicholson to play up to his potential against an opponent with a pulse for once so that their secondary isn't completely exposed by Barrett.

Ive watched every MSU game this year, their WRs arent that good, there OL is not that good. Cook will be on his arse the entire game, Ill be shocked if cook plays the entire game.

If Ohio State avoids turnovers they win comfortably.

I am not concerned about this game. I think it will be right around a 13-17 point game. Cook isn't 100%, it's at home, and we are due for a game where everything clicks.

If I could make it up to Columbus for the game, and that's what was available, I'd pay for some good seats.

With Cook not at 100%, even if things just click 50-75% for you guys I feel it should be a comfortable win. Their D isn't what is has been, and neither is their O-line. They could get away with it against Maryland at home, but not in Columbus.
