Is that how you judge whether a specific act is against the law?

Nope. People keep speaking in absolutes about THIS instance. Its kind of what the thread is about no? We are not 100% sure charges are even going to brought against anyone at this point.

Where are the charges? Who is charged and with what?

There is an ongoing federal investigation to determine who illegally accessed the Astros network. They are investigating it because such an act would be against the law.

To my knowledge the FBI is not currently investigating a team or players for stealing/passing signs, nor have they ever. But maybe that's just an irrational oversight on my part.

If you'll remember, the poster whom MOT's post referenced had already assumed the Cardinals were guilty of the accusations levied against them.

I consider this to be akin to stealing signs, stealing playbooks, and other items.
So I don't see the error in MOT's post. But you lashed out because it's a sensitive time for you Cardinals fans, with the federal investigation and all. And that's ok. As a Saints fan, I understand.

And here we are...

But we are 100% certain a federal investigation is ongoing and that it doesn't involve something as petty as stealing signs. Certain cardinal fans are having trouble telling the difference between the two acts.

Do you know what akin means?

Similar not always exactly alike.

Both are cheating one is a crime (if found guilty) one is in a game both gain advantage

Learn context

I bet you guys also thought OJ is guilty of myrder and Duke Lacrosse are guilty of rape because of an allegation.

Problem is there is no facts that say that a law was broken only an allegation

Sure, for now. And we know the allegation is serious enough to warrant a federal investigation.

I'll wait for you to tell me when the last federal investigation into sign stealing was.

You made a stupid comment. Just accept it and move on.

Agreed.

Correct.

Already have.

Negatory.

ETA: None of that has anything to do with my post, though. Maybe MOT should take that one.

No I made a comparison and you clowns can't understand context. Then I repeat why I say it and you jump on absolutes. You guys have the imagination of Eichman. But claim to be imaginative.

ETA:

I just did what I said I was pissed about spoke in absolutes

MOT and the Auburn fan are who didn't want to think about what I said.

Great point, thanks for enlightening me.

Let me see if I have this right. Aggravated assault on the star player of a division rival is akin to stealing signs because of the competitive advantage.

He said this:

the card fan that compared a federal crime to stealing signs was particularly entertaining
You followed up with:

What law has been broken? What charge has been filed? Last time I checked it was an investigation nothing more nothing less.

The idiocy being spewed by some people on here on both sides of the issue is laughable and almost, if not totally, indefensible.

When you really think about it, this is pretty much the same thing as laying down a bunt to break up a no hitter.

Even though everyone wants to talk about Lebron, this is just a friendly reminder that BFIB can't win a game without cheating!

Fans don't actually play the games, so the BFIBs can't win a game whether they cheat or not. Not sure how fans would cheat anyway though.
