(not UClub) and playing at twilight. Course is crowded and playing in 10 mph humid breeze out of the SE. Blue tees. Soggy spots from thunderstorms from 3 weeks ago.

Tour pros will probably get on in two on holes 3, 5, 9, and maybe 16 (left to right wind and OB close with smallish green). Reach holes 7 and 15. Get within 30 yards of holes 1, 4, 6, and 13.

I'd say they two-putt most of those because of the intense grain and slower greens. 4 lipouts, 3 of which coming from plastic cups at the surface.
> A ditch or water ball after a drunk, Davis Love wannabe on an adjacent hole sprays one on the tee-box, mid-swing. +1 stroke
> never seen a nutria before, +1 stroke
> general frustration, +2 strokes

so after adding in a couple birdies on the remaining holes that comes out to be about a 64, maybe 63. Pretty accurate imo, greens would be a tough adjustment. What say you?

I played with Patrick Reed in 8th grade. He shot 8 under on the front nine. A pro would murder LSU.

I played with Scott Sterling at the old UClub and he would shoot 64's like it was ease. Every tour pro would shoot under 63 at LSU.

I played with a guy who shot six under on the front. Drive 1 4 6 7. On in two on 3 and 5.

I three-putted #9 to shoot 5 under on the front back in high school. But I played, and putted, out of my mind that day and haven't come close since.

Just can't make putts on that course anymore. Nothing falls for me, especially outside of 10 feet.

This is a clown question bro. Tour players would murder the LSU course.

Now the current Uclub? Supposedly Toms played it and thought it was ridiculous.

This thread is supposed to be light-hearted, but I've always wondered how pros would fare with some inconsistency. Every course they play is pretty close to pristine. I'm sure they would still go really low, but I tend to wonder just how well they would perform on the greens.

After playing LSU 95% of the time, it always amazes me how many more putts I make at some other courses.

Considering Toms designed the course, I'm sure he wasn't surprised at all by the conditions

I thought DT had nothing to do with the redesign? I've been told the membership was very upset with the final product.

Fwiw, I haven't played the UC since the redesign.

I really don't think the course is that good. The greens were designed to be really tough to give the LSU golfers a place that would really test them but they aren't that fun for your average golfer to play on

Can't argue with you. I shot 87 there the first time I played it, didn't break 100 any time after. The only reason I shot 87 is I had an exceptional day with the irons and kept putting the ball close to the hole. There are a lot of stupid hard shots on that course. The greens were just ridiculous every other time I played it. I can't say I've ever really enjoyed playing it, especially for $75.
