I understand the idea of it being attached to home field advantage in the World Series, but since the part of the reasoning of regular season interleague play is to let fans see teams from the other league, why not play with the AL rules in the NL parks and vise versa?

I don't really want my NL team either bringing someone up from the minors or playing a guy who isn't good enough to start normally when i go to see them play at home.

Unless that team is the Cubs bringing up Kyle Schwarber. Then, by all means, bring on the DH rules.

the teams are interesting to fans in some cases but most NL fans hate teh DH and most AL fans hate pitchers hitting.

On your home field you should have the home ballpark rules - imagine how grumpy the Yankees fans would have been watching David Wells and Roger Clemens hit in Yankee stadium.

I used to hate the DH when the Astros were in the NL. I've gotten used to it now and actually hate it when the Astros play at an NL team and the pitcher has to bat. I don't care to watch a pitcher be a near automatic out anymore.

The DH sucks and is terrible for MLB.

Its time to get rid of the DH all together.

I agree with you, but that's not going to happen. Much more likely it goes the other way and the NL adopts it, assuming the hold out owners decide they want to take on extra payroll to pay a guy that only does one thing.

pitchers batting just makes lineup construction and late game decision making so much more interesting

I get you're an NL fan so this thinking is natural, but what is your reasoning for it being terrible for MLB?

I used to think the DH wasn't "real" baseball when the Astros were in the NL and it adds a different strategy. Honestly now that I've gotten used to watching the Astros in the AL with the DH It's just more entertaining to have a better hitter in the lineup instead of a pitcher batting sub .100.

Well it does dumb down the game.

To each his own.

I also see the easy out (until the 6th inning) argument

So you'd rather watch a shitty pitcher hit instead?

This makes no sense.

If the NL adopted the DH today, in 30 years, people would be saying "so they used to let the pitchers hit? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard."

I'm sure if the NL adopted the DH in the 1970's (they almost did), not one single person would care about it today.

I don't care that much if there is or isn't a DH, but to have the 2 leagues differ on the matter is the most ridiculous part about it

Pitchers batting and running the bases is terrible to watch and puts them at unnecessary risk of injury while batting or running.

I think it's more likely people would say "Why don't they let pitchers hit? Everyone else who plays on defense hits."
