I've seen several videos over the past few years of MLB and NCAA hitters trying to hit off of Jenny Finch or another elite softball pitcher.

They usually struggle because of the release point of throwing underhanded. Softball hitters spend hours and hours seeing the underhanded release and hence are better able to handle these pitches.

I don't think I've ever seen any videos of an elite softball hitter trying to hit a MLB pitcher. Something tells me they would probably have the same issues. They just aren't accustomed to seeing balls pitched in this manner and would probably not be very good at hitting against these guys.

Thoughts?

Randy Johnson would have had them shitting their pants. They'd take confident hacks against someone who sits 87-89. Doubt they'd hit the ball if the pitcher was mixing it up on them, though.

ETA: I mean, what a stupid thread!

Ask Jessica Mendoza. She's an "expert".

Why do people feel the need to be a smartass?

I don't have an interest in The Walking Dead but I don't go in their threads and say how stupid the show is... It's called respect.

If you don't have an interest in a thread just STFU and stay out of it.

I happen to be a big fan of both Baseball and Softball... I just find it funny that they always want to show you that guys can't hit a softball but no one explores the other side of the coin.

If an elite MLB pitcher was trying to strike them out, he would strike them out. They wouldn't stand a chance.

If a softball pitcher had to throw from 60 feet, 6 inches I'd hit the shite out of the ball. And I'm old as dirt. The difference is distance.

The softball issue is more about how close the mound is. Back them up and big leaguers would hit it.

I literally turned the Royals and Mets game off the other night when I saw they had some broad in the booth.
