So Sammie Coates has 5 flat-out drops in perfect weather today

Holy smokes he's bad. They just keep throwing to him.

They said he has a cut on his hand. He shouldn't even be playing.

That drop on that slant in the EZ was so bad. Like even if it was you and your boys playing flag football it would require a "come on man."

As long as he has SPEED, he'll stick around much like DHB. He'll always be a WR4 though.

I think he had a bit of a issue with drops in college too

He's starting on my fantasy team today and already has 17 points. Dude could drop every pass for the rest of the day for all I care

As an AU fan, Sammie is best when thrown to in terrible situations I.e. Double coverage. I'm not kidding. He's liable to drop an easy drag, but a double covered post route? He'll catch it what feels like every time.

He has 117 yards and a touchdown today and may get cut

He's not getting cut
He's the Steelers best deep ball threat right now without Martavis Bryant.

Announcers on CBS are praising Coates right now
"Best day as a pro"

Injuries have been killer, Coates saved my arse today

6 catches 139 yards 2 TD
if not for the 5 drops he could've had a day like Julio had last week.

Ben kept going to him. You don't see shite like that often. Much respect to tomlin and ben.

Given where his drops were, maybe better.

Too bad Pittsburgh doesn't get to play the Jets again. The Jets have been REAL bad at giving up the deep ball, and yeah he's one of my fantasy teams :csb:
looks like they are going to try and work him into the Martavis Bryant role. 31 targets so far and the next WR down the line on the team in targets is Eli Rogers (15) and Markus Wheaton (9).
leads the team currently with 7 catches for 20+ yards. Antonio Brown has six and will probably take the lead and keep it soon but that's great for Sammie. Ole boy from small town Leroy, AL.
if he maintains his role wonder what his final stat line could look like. Wheaton had 79-749-5 last year and Marty Bryant had 50-763-6 but only played 11 games.

He would catch the one handed 60 yard slant then drop a 6 yard out pass

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports Sammie Coates has a "sizable" cast on his left hand Wednesday.
quote:
Fowler doesn't expect Coates to practice much this week. Coates had a number of drops last week against the Jets, including a one-yard touchdown and another potential touchdown on a jump ball. Even with the drops, Coates still managed a robust 6-139-2 line. The day could have been monstrous. He reportedly cut his hand during the game. Consider him day to day.
