That's ridiculous. At best, Duncan is the 3rd best player of his generation behind Shaq and Kobe.

Kobe?

I don't think he is an idiot. I just don't think he is a good writer.

He's a good writer. He didn't become who he is by being something other than a good writer.

I disagree, but God bless your opinion.

Yes, he is.

His barely a notch above Skip Bayless in my eyes. And sadly, he thinks he's funny too.

I'm guessing you skipped over the 2 horrendous comments he made that I dug up about how stupid the "Zombie Sonics" were for drafting Harden, who's game would "never translate to the NBA"?

That's more a hit to his credibility as an analyst than a writer. He's a good writer

Stephen A Smith was a writer. Big time write at that.

Because he has a major role with ESPN now, can one assume that he was/is a good writer too? Seems like fantastic logic.

I could assume, but I don't have to. I've been reading Simmons' column since 2003.

Fair enough. Good writer. Terrible opinions and analysis though. I'd say that's pretty key if you are where he is in his career doing halftime shows and whatnot.

The guy has probably written twice as many words as the second most prolific ESPN columnist. You're going to be able to cherry pick some stupid comments. Congrats.

Simmons' biggest problem, in my view, is that he REALLY wants to be an analyst, but he's just MUCH MUCH better as a columnist.

"Some stupid comments"?

Try a lot of stupid comments.

He's had some pretty shitty analysis with little to no accountability and consistent pattern of switching sides. That's weak as shite, whether you're a great writer or not.
