Talk about blast form the past oldschool. Some great rosebowls with Udub decades ago.

Seems like we are seeing things finally go back to normal in some areas of CFB. Joker, flash in the pan schools like oregon and BSU seem to be declining after popping up for ten years or so.

I remember when Colorado was the shite and Tom Osborne was a god but I can't honestly say I remember Washington ever being good. That pre-dates my memory of college football.

Before USC and Oregon emerged it was Washington and Colorado that feasted on the California kids

2000 Huskies went 11-1 and got screwed out of a BCS NC berth.

You mean before USC re-emerged?

Trojans won 4 national championships in the 1960's and 1970's.

In my mind, and not necessarily reality, all schools that don't have a sufficient local talent base to compete nationally are "flash in the pans". So Oregon, Washington, Nebraska, West Virginia, Boise, and Utah are all temporary.

USC, UCLA, Texas, Georgia, and Tennessee have lately managed to do the least with the most. Michigan was on that list until this year.

I can still see Tyrone running 80+ for a touchdown in the '93 rose bowl

Truly one of the most memorable sporting venues I've had the good fortune to visit.

I just remember the national media always hyping Washington the frick up during the Jake Locker years.

Also remember one year with Keith Price they were highly regarded. That was still when NCAA the video game was made and I just remember he was like a 97 overall and would run laps around me.

I don't remember Washington being some long term power over decades. They pop up for 10 years here or there like about 40 other schools have.

A program that is elite for decades isn't a "flash in the pan"
