My grandfather was a bookie back in the 70s-90s and made a mint... It was truly unreal the volume he did and money he made living in a small rural town. I have the itch to do this but don't think I can ever pull the trigger ... Any of you scum bags bookies? Or have friends that are?

Knew a few guys. Of the 3-4, one did 18 months in federal prison and another got house arrest - got them on not paying taxes.
If you do it, keep it small with people you know.

You know your first customer is going to go 15 for 15 on a football card and you'll have to flee the country.

Me and a buddy of mine played those cards for years and didn't hit shite. We started taking those cards in and it seemed like every a-hole who played one was hitting. On sunday nights we were calling our guy putting 1K on the night game to try and cover the losses from the card.
My advice from experience would be to leave it alone. Some months will be good but I promised you some months will be absolutely horrible.

Lots of money to be made and lots of friendships ruined. You get to see the side of people you never thought was there.

I had thought about doing it in college but this was one of the reasons I didn't. Money causes conflict between even the closest friends.
