LINK

Just came out they have settled the final months of his deal and he will not appear on any more ESPN platforms

No more Grantland columns
No more BS Report/Bill Don't Lie podcasts
No more appearances on the Grantland Basketball Hour

Expect the details to come out soon but I wonder if there is a grace period where he is supposed to lay low or a clause that prevents him from bashing ESPN

Good move for Bill.

Bad for ESPN.

Not surprised...would have been awkward to have him on after everything came out.

Now on to the DP Show he goes...

Not sad one bit that I don't have to hear his NBA coverage.

Nah today's podcast about last night's Clippers game would've been hilarious.

I thought he owned Grantland?

He must've gotten a fortune if they bought him out of it.

How will Disney and ESPN survive? It seems every time that ESPN loses a personality they come back with a better replacement than what they just lost.

First it was Mees, then Olberman, then Patrick, and now Simmons. People will bang the doors down for a gig with the company and it's ability to reach the masses.

I always thought that Grantland was owned by Disney, but employed Simmons as part of his project when they hired him in 2011.

I wouldn't say they end up with better talent but agree it won't matter to them like all the others they've lost.

ESPN owns Grantland. Simmons is (was) the editor in chief.

Wait does he not end up keeping Grantland?

Hate to see this though, I really enjoyed him.

Simmons is the man. All of you saying he sucks are just trying to be edgy hipsters.

They bought out his contract, wouldn't that void any agreement?
