If he was officiated fairly, he would have had a longer prime. The folks that were allowed to hit him above the shoulders severely curtailed his career.

Never forget, Matt Geiger broke his fricking hand and Shaq was called for traveling on that play.

Well, his only shot was a dunk, he was worthless on the offensive side if they every called charging, which they don't.

Absolutely. With the WWE level officiating in the Association (doubly so in the Stern era), Shaq would take the inlet pass, put his 100lb arse into the defender and just move him down to the blocks, turn around and shoot the 3footer or dunk. It was an utter joke watching Shaq's games. If they ever called offensive fouls, he wouldn't be in the same area code as Hakeem and others.

Couldn't disagree more. The reason the NBA has become a flop fest is because people who couldn't guard Shaq for shite would fall down and pray to get offensive fouls against him. People that played him straight up got trounced. It wasn't because he fouled them, it was because he was the best post player of his era and no worse than third all time. People had success flopping, now everyone does it and Harden has brought it to the offensive side of the floor.

How about he played to the rules and would have adjusted to new interpretations of the rules......

Obviously this is all super hypothetical but I would definitely think Draymond would do about as good as job as any one because he wouldn't back down a bit to Shaq. I would love to see how that would go down though cause y'all are right, it takes team defense to guard Shaq. I don't think most centers shoot that well but I could see a guy like Marc Gasol really troubling him. Or I could see the Cavs playing Love at the 5 on offense and letting LeBron take him on D.

Regardless Shaq is not overrated and OP is dumb.

Follow up: Would the Warriors trade KD for a prime Shaq? I say yes. And I assumed KD is the Warriors most valuable player

That just isn't true. As bad as he was at free throws, there is no way he could have put up the scoring numbers that he did with the dunk being his only shot.

This is called basketball. He'd "post up" somebody and "back" them down. All legal, I promise.

Finals stats during their run don't mean shite. The finals in those years were the WCF (usually against the Spurs) and Kobe shite all over the Spurs in those runs.

Why don't you let Shaq post you up in the paint. That way you can see how dominant his dick is when it's in your face as he hangs from the rim and you are crying tears of blood due to the glass in your eyes from the backboard being shattered.

I'm guessing with a thread that allows you to downplay Shaq and prop Kobe on your pedestal that you've been hard since the first post. We're getting close to the 4 hour mark might need to check the doctors.

Not as hard as when I found out Kobe would be retiring with one ring less than the GOAT.

Not sure how a no. 1 overall pick, 4x NBA champion, 3x Finals MVP, 2000 NBA MVP, 8x All-Pro First Team, Rookie of the Year, 2x league scoring champion, number retired by 2 NBA teams, NBA 50 all-time selection, top 13 all-time in scoring, field goals, rebounds and blocks, and NBA champion with 2 separate franchises can be considered overrated unless an ascertained rater selects him as the no. 1 player in league history. He's properly rated at this point, because MJ currently holds the title of "most overrated" ever.

He also wanted to accomplish never fouling out of a game, which he successfully did - because he basically stopped playing defense once he got to 5 fouls, in order to achieve that career goal.

According to Bill Russell, you are full of shite.

This is truly one of the dumbest posts to ever grace the MSB in the history of it's inception.

Are you trolling HARD? TTTHHEE most overrated player who took a new franchise barely into it's inception to the championship in 3 years (Orlando Magic) to then win 3 championships in a row in LA before winning another in Miami?
