You're right. Shame on USC for taking advantage of the poor, innocent Steve Sarkisian who did absolutely nothing wrong here. You can't make an alcoholic get clean and an employer damn sure can't force an employee to be institutionalized to become sober. I'm sure they told him over and over, "Get help. Get help or this will eventually force us to fire you." Do you think USC wanted this?

This is ultimately good for sark. He will take a big hit now he will need to humble himself big time and get control of this problem and build a new way of living. He is a talented coach and if he chooses to really change now he will get another shot and at 41 has a lot of time left to write a new better chapter.

When you make this kind of money, you don't get a second chance. Do you think the results would be different if the CEO of a Fortune 500 Company showed up on national television high as a kite and shredded his company's stock in front of 10 million people? Sarkisian made $4.25M a year and his salary was in the top 10 of NCAA football coaches. With that comes a shite ton of responsibility.

He can get a chance to make good. That doesn't have to mean making $4+ million ever again.

The company has a right to make that choice. But you can't be an alcoholic, embarrass the organization, show up for games drunk and then skip team meetings and EXPECT to keep your job.

And further, Sarkisian is in rehab. Cool. He needs it. Don't you think he could've let his boss know? He didn't even have to call the man directly but could've done it through his agent. Or through a text message to his admin assistant.

This post is not meant directly for you vengeance

Haden said after the public drunken melt at the booster shindig Sark agreed to a zero tolerance policy. So when he melted down this weekend Haden enforced the policy that Sark agreed to.

Sark going to rehab is for his own benefit, USC is done with him

Some of you are too stupid for words

That depends. Can. He. Win? If he can win, he'll make even more. No one gives a shite about your personal life if you win. It's when you lose that people start to care about character.

People frickin love a redemption story. He gets his shite straight and works his way up the ladder without messing up and he'll get another shot

Lots of coaches with a lot bigger problems than being a drunk have gotten a lot more chances than 1

It stinks to high heaven that they would shitcan him in this way when they damn well knew for quite a while that he had a serious problem and did absolutely nothing to step in.

uh

didn't they put him on a leash and tell him to seek treatment after his drunken night in front of the boosters? this was about a month ago

Steve Sarkisian learned he had been fired when he read an e-mail and text messages from friends expressing sympathy.

If USC was undefeated do yall think there would have been a forced "leave of absence?"

Not sure. Maybe not. If USC was 5-0 maybe he would have gotten another talkin to. Then again if my aunt had a dick she'd be my uncle. The fact remains USC is 3-2 and Sarkisian is in rehab.

Nope.

I don't think this is even close to the first time he's shown up at practice drunk. It was just the first time he showed up drunk after losing to Washington.

Does anyone actually believe Haden? I call bull on his enforcing a "zero tolerance" policy. Haden's just saying anything to try and cover his arse.

Didn't he chalk the whole booster club incident to "bad mixing of prescription medicine and alcohol" and try and sweep it all under the rug?
