That shite is why the program needed the death penalty. Go above and beyond to accommodate the (then) current players, but end that program for a while.

Instead, the Penn State cult got to quickly use the scandal as a perverse rallying point, and the true origin of the underlying problem (football being more important than life and basic humanity), got to live on almost unscathed.

I haven't looked at his Twitter in a long time, but Jay Paterno used to post vehement defenses of his dad like it was some big old conspiracy against JoePa. Probably still does.
