Bump.
Last Saturday, San Diego State extended the streak to 161 against New Mexico.
They were leading by 4 with 5 minutes remaining. However, with 15 seconds left, SDSU was down by 5. Remarkably, they managed to force overtime, where they won by 7.

This might be the most weird and unexplained stat in the history of sports.
That's more than 6 years.
They are also 20-2 in their last 22 OT games.
Bottom line, don't trail San Diego late in the game or go to OT with them.

That is a ridiculous stat for basketball. You have so many momentum changes, frantic finishes, and other factors. How the frick do they do that?

I read this thread last week and was just fascinated by the stat.

It is honestly one of the most remarkable statistics I have ever heard.

I still think vandy, UNLV, and another school have made a three pointer in every single game since it's adaptation is the most remarkable stat for me but this is up there

To clarify, if they have the lead when the clock hits 5:00 remaining in the game, they have won 160 consecutive times.
Doesn't that seem incredible to anyone else?
Being an Alabama fan makes it hard to grasp. Seeing as they've lost 160 games in a row with a lead with 5 minutes remaining

That is pretty remarkable too.

Guy is an amazing coach. I adopted them as my team for a year when Josh Davis transferred there.

I like to meet the guy that keeps up with stat.

Bump.
The streak is over.
Not exactly sure what the number was when it ended, but SDSU lost to Boise State just now. Not only were they up with 5 minutes remaining, they were up by 8 with one minute left.
RIP tStreak.
