it comes down to whether they deserve as a city to be mentioned with the Seattles and Los Angeleses of the world. they don't and the NBA will be much better off back in Seattle

If that's the case the original Sonics team shouldn't have left Seattle to relocate to Oklahoma City right?

Sacramento was never big enough to deserve a team in the first place...

The Sacramento metro area has more people than the metro areas of Cleveland, Orlando, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, SLC, OKC, and New Orleans

Their biggest problem was not size, it was horrible ownership

Seattle got a team before Charlotte did.

Great fanbase during the early-mid 2000's, but one of the worst for years now.

They were a good fanbase before the team got good. Had good attendance during the '90s.

Owners alienating the fanbase can kill support.

If I remember right, the % capacity rankings were a lot better. Key Arena was just a small place. I think even if every game was sold out, it still wouldn't crack the top 20 in attendance.

and Key doesn't offer the suite revenue that most NBA teams depend on.

cant say im surprised. im happy that this is happening though after how the seattle fans got absolutely fricked by bennett. i understand that the allotted time has pass and that OKC controls the sonic history but i do hope that the new ownership can come to an agreement with bennett that would give their history back

I think it cheapens sports leagues to have teams moving around all the time. That being said, Seattle got screwed before and I think the team will do well there.

Kind of too bad for Sacramento which is a decent sized city and will lose its only pro sports franchise.

Durant was there during their final year in Seattle.

Seattle lost their team by their own doing by not upgrading their arena. This situation sucks for Kings fans because they had to suffer with a shitty ownership group who isn't giving them a chance to keep their team. I don't think anyone should be happy that fans in Sacramento are having their team stolen from them.

The ownership group already owns the property for a new arena. The plans are currently in the review/approval process by the city. It's going to be right by Qwest and Safeco

Future home of the returning Seattle Supersonics and the relocating Seattle Stars (from Dallas).

That's exactly what Clay Bennett wants you to think.

This is what actually happened to Seattle as well.

Nobody is. It sucks. If we ever got a team, I was hoping for an expansion team. I think the NBA will be a tough sell the 2nd time around after how everything went down before.

How long will it take for Seattle to not care about this team? 5-7 years?
