Ryder Cup- Golfers should look in the mirror before bitching about the crowds

AMEN
Ever since '99 the golfers antics on both sides have been begging the crowd to get louder and crazier. Poulter has been one of the worst.
All the players need to either tame their emotions or just shut up about the fans.

The enduring storyline of the competition concerned the poor conduct of galleries. Players from both sides expressed disappointment at the heckling directed at European players, as well as the vocal delight at European misfortunes (Europe lost the cup, 17-11).
The players sounded like petulant parents chastising children for behavior learned at home. What, exactly, did they expect?
The signature moment of Friday afternoon’s competition came when Team Europe leader Rory McIlroy ostentatiously bowed, twice, after making an eagle putt on the 16th green – a move he admitted was choreographed.
Predictably, American leader Phil Mickelson curtsied after making a putt Saturday. On Sunday, Patrick Reed bowed and shushed McIlroy.

All of the players, captains and assistant captains complained about the crowds.
Well, they reaped what they sowed.
Much of the charm of golf lies in its etiquette. Players are expected to act with restraint in both moments of exultation and moments of despair. The death last week of Arnold Palmer, an exceedingly gracious champion and ambassador, underscored that mission. Golf is a frustrating pursuit of the privileged. It’s not supposed to be fun.
The players sought to ramp up the fun factor. Fine; you want full-contact golf? You get full-contact fans.

It's good for golf. Reed should have pulled a foreign object from his belt and spanked rory with it.

He ain't lying. Rory screamed, "Let's fricking go!". Then put his hands to his ears and said, "I can't hear you. I can't hear you". Pretty silly to complain after those antics.

fans weren't that bad and the euros didn't complain as much as some are saying ...

People you called fat, stupid, and poor were inhospitable? That's really surprising.

Golfers are used to having their asses kissed by everyone in their lives. They can't handle these situations bc it's a polar opposite of their coddled millionaire existence.

Rory said 99% of the fans were great. And yes, he acted very arrogant (which I loved), but that doesn't excuse the fan that told him to "suck his dick" or the people who would yell as the players who had already addressed their ball.
Too big of a deal is being made of a couple idiots yelling. The crowds were fine overall, and much better on Sunday.

Damn you people! This is golf not a rock concert!

To be fair, Rory didn't really complain about the crowds. He knew he was egging it on.

That sums it up. It's the Ryder Cup not the Masters

Good.
It's a team event in an individual sport.
If you can't make the Ryder Cup more interesting than nothing will be interesting.
Too bad they didn't have beach balls bouncing across the greens. Lets see how far the fans can take this without golf announcers imploding.

The hell he didn't. He did gripe about the vulgar fans with good reason.
And he was also right to be pissed when fans were yelling while addressing a shot/putt.
He also stared down fans that made any comments wishing a putt would miss. He basically begged fans to cheer for his bad shots/misses.
Poulter and Garcia complaining about the fans is quite amusing as they have been the worst at egging the fans on before Rory this year.

I know the history of golf and everything, but it is ridiculous that people can't hit the ball unless there is complete silence. Baseball players are required to hit a moving ball travelling over 90 MPH with the crowds roaring, but a golfer demands complete silence. When I golf, I don't give a crap if somebody talks during my backswing. I find silence way more distracting.

I would love to hear who called them; fat, stupid and poor.
