Did you even listen to Clark? His message was the complete opposite. It was about proving that he was more than just a race and a profession by being a good person, that is how he overcomes racism.

my comment wasn't about clark's comments. just in general.

problem is this rarely happens. I think a better way of phrasing what he said is that racial issues will never go away if we don't stop trying to make a racism a focal point of everything in our lives. It's shoved down our throats so much that people honestly get annoyed by it and don't even want to address real issues. However, there would be a lot of wealthy people out of jobs if racism ever ended, so don't expect that day to come anytime soon

its like spoiling a child to keep giving the baiters a platform or soapbox to spew shite about who "they" think hates them. when in fact it is them who hate others.

What does that have to do with the conversation Clark and RR had?

When Ryan Clark got the white woman pregnant, her father said he was just a n***** that would never amount to anything or take care of the baby.

That is 100% racism.

Guess what? That baby is now 16 and lives with Ryan full time....

and you missed the silver lining of that story. Ryan said it would have done him no good to get all mad and get into with the guy. If he had done that, the other guy wins. What Ryan did was prove the guy wrong by his actions, and two years later the guy apologized to Ryan and admitted he was wrong. That's how breakthroughs are made.

I completely agree.

Agreed again. But that poster made it very clear that he didn't mean this, he meant he really doesn't care if racism goes away or not, he just wants people to stop talking about it. That may not be how he truly feels, but that is the gist of what he actually said.

I just hate how when black people are telling the "someone called me an n-word" stories, white people feel the need to go "ohhh, oh dear me, i can not even imagine". Uhhh...yeah i can. You got called a name. Youre an adult. You got over it. Whoopdiedoo

And I hate when my cereal gets soggy, but I don't feel like my soggy cereal is relevant to this thread.

I am 30 years old. I can say in my life, nobody in a position of power or authority, has ever expected me to be a failure or disappointment simply because of my skin color or they way I look. I think that is slightly worse than being called a cotton headed ninny muggins......

Wait a minute, if you think if you don't talk about an issue it's just gonna go Poof and disappear? Is that how you handle your problems? How old are you?

I feel like people still go off of what Morgan Freeman once said.

Is that really racism or is that just angry words? By the same token would it more or less Racist to pick a black guy before a white guy in a pick up game? I mean one is expressing words to someone and the other is actually taking actions based off race.

If we allow some things to be tolerated on racial probabilities toward one race but not others, is that in of itself racist?

IMHO, telling someone they are a n***** and saying they will be a bad father, without knowing them, is racism. It might not fit the actual websters dictionary perfectly, but 100% I would call it racism

You really dont think it is?

If you feel words are more powerful than actions then I fundamentally disagree. If that was the case then who is the decider of what words are allowed and what are off limits? The N word might not bother some people as much as cracker devastates someone else. Who decides who's feelings are okay to hurt and who's aren't? Where does is stop?

Of course he has the right. He literally said Clark would be less of a man/father due to skin color. I mean, that is pretty much racism in a nice box with a bow on it
