My cousin in Argentina used to play professional rugby. I think he was in a league in France. I'm sure he's retired now. He's around 36.

Who is typically the rugby powerhouse of the world? USA? Australia? New Zealand?

Wow. I figured the USA would be higher.

USA (until later this year) is semi-pro.

It's interesting that the top 9 has been stagnant.

Sorry. I don't follow it. I saw the playoffs this year and learned about a Life University for the first time. Apparently, they are pretty good at rugby.

I like that the matches are short but I really don't understand all the rules, especially when time runs out and they are still allowed to "reset" the ball.

That's 7s, not XVs.

The more you watch the more you learn.

It's fun to learn new sports. If you're American football fan, then you'll pick up on rugby pretty easy.

Agreed. I happened to catch the AUS vs NZ championship match last year on TV and really enjoyed it.

Oh wow. So, the college game is only 7 on 7?

I just started watching a few years ago because it was something different.

Now I really enjoy it, especially the international matches.

What's his name? I've been of a fan of Argentina rugby for a while. Love their bajada scrum technique.

College plays 15's too. 7's is just another version of the game. It's easy to put on TV since you can have huge tournaments and play multiple matches back to back. There's also strong backing from Vegas for 7's due to betting potential.

The USA is decent in 7's. They play on the same size field as 15's so you throw out a couple of former track sprinters and you're good.

I'd be in Houston this weekend if it weren't both Mardi Gras weekend and Superbowl Sunday.
