Very sad. I still can't figure out how he lost control.

Can you give the rest of us any clue as to who that person is?

Something must have broke on his bike. Seemed very strange. If his helmet wouldn't have come off maybe he survives.

So, there are at least two Moto GP fans on droppings.

It's unreal. He was the one that made racing so exciting this year. Screw what Pedrosa, Stoner and Lorenzo had to say, Simoncelli was the man.

Here's a video from CNN's coverage of the accident, if anyone is interested- Marco Simoncelli Death Report CNN
I imagine he had a bit of a high side coming out of that fast right and he manned up and hung on instead of letting the back step out too far. He just started to veer after that.
His tires would still have been cold that early in the race and that right hander is crazy fast.
Edit: Here's a video that has an on board camera showing how he initially lost control. It wasn't even a high side because there was really no noticeable kick, it just seems like he went a little too hard on cold tires and they slipped out. He made a champion's effort to save it. LINK

Simoncelli was the freakin' man. I loved watching him race. He raced damn hard too, very aggressive. I loved watching an interview from earlier in the season when the interviewer asks him if anyone ever asks about his hair. He was a funny man and will be missed. Wasn't he supposed to switch from Honda to Ducati next year? Has there been any updated news about how the crash happened? I've watched him strap his helmet on many a time and wonder if if the strap was just too loose, as it appears to be most of the time. Damn, this is sad.

That crash looks pretty horrible. Almost looks like he was knocked out or something with the way he was hanging off the right side of the bike like that. Or maybe I just don't know what I'm looking at. Either way RIP Marco Simocelli and Prayers to his family

That's exactly why I asked if there was any new info. The crash just did not look right to me. It's as if he blacked out while making the turn. I'm still in shock.

Some people say basketball players are athletes, but bike racers have to be athletic AND put their life on the line, every practice & race. I sometimes watch MotoGP, RIP Marco Simoncelli...
