That's nuts. He's used to hurdles on top of all that speed too.

When a lot of guys have a sprinting start they could notch 4 flat 40s... You lose most of your time on the start/acceleration.

That said, dude is ridic. And I fantasy drafted him hall jokingly because I got to the draft late!

Dale Earnhardt Jr. was forced to sit out two races and missed out on a chance his game's championship because he had a concussion.

RGIII didn't even miss a game because doctors paid by Daniel Snyder said he was okay.

REALLY makes me wonder about this culture Roger Goodell says he is changing.

except that they get to run in a straight line and don't have to change direction

What's sad is that LSU didn't get him because Les Miles didn't think he could play quarterback at the college level and instead wanted to convert him to a wide receiver or defensive back. With RG3, LSU would have won at least one Crystal Football and two track championships.

There's no such thing as a minor concussion.

rg3 ran in a straight line too. although he definitely appeared to be coasting the last 15 yards.

Actually there are, it's called a Grade 1 concussion in which you can return to play after 15 minutes. Grade II allows return after 1 week.

This is according to doctors. But what do they know?

LINK

When to Return to Play
Grade of Concussion: Return to Play only After Being Asymptomatic with Normal Neurologic Assessment at Rest and with Exercise:
Grade 1 Concussion At least 15 minutes
Multiple Grade 1 Concussions 1 week
Grade 2 Concussion 1 week
Multiple Grade 2 Concussions 2 weeks
Grade 3 - Brief Loss of Consciousness (seconds) 1 week
Grade 3 - Prolonged Loss of Consciousness (minutes) 2 weeks
Multiple Grade 3 Concussions 1 month or longer, based on decision of evaluating physician

More recent research shows that your chart is wrong, due to the cumulative effect of concussions.

Try finding something from less than five years ago, sport.

Well, thirty years from now when RGIII doesn't even know his name and he goes on TV talking about how the NFL ruined his life, I DON'T WANT TO HEAR A SINGLE ONE OF YOU BITCHING THAT ITS HIS FAULT BECAUSE HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS GETTING INTO.

The NFL could have stopped this but keeping one of its most marketable cash cows on the bench and "changing the culture" just wasn't more important than the bottom line.

Do you want for me to dig up every article on concussions written over the last few years to show that you are wrong?

Or better yet, call your doctor. I've spoken to many people in sports medicine who happen to agree with my position. But then again, what the frick does someone WHO CURRENTLY PLAYS A CONTACT SPORT know about concussion awareness?

More than various academies of neurology, apparently.
