Hmm... it should've gone to Joerger for all the issues Memphis had, but this vote was such a farce.

Based on the regular season, I see no problems with that vote.

I don't think it should have gone to Joerger. His team started out poorly when everyone was healthy. Then got back on track and were winning games like they should have been all along. Then they had the injuries and did end up losing a lot of games but they got lucky that the teams below them were sucking so bad that they didn't fall out of the playoffs.

I wouldn't have been upset if Stottts got it

You don't see an issue with someone coaching 39 games and winning it with his only adjustment every game being playing Curry and the "death lineup"?

The only reason Kerr is even questionable is because Walton had a better record than him. I just find it hard to knock Kerr for that when he is largely responsible for the rotations and what not.

Over-reaction and an over-generalization in the same post.

Nice.

His team with KD and Westbrook had less wins than Toronto. He didn't really do much to deserve votes.

Not for a regular season award.

I said the same exact thing about Kerr when this was announced. My opinion has not changed.

Are you trying to be as simple minded as possible?

Meh, for the regular season he didn't really warrant discussion. This OKC team had major problems at times.

If there was a postseason COY award, you'd have an argument.

On a similar note, part of me wishes the MVP and COY were voted on and handed out at the end of the post season, particularly the COY award. When you're playing the same team for 4-7 straight games, the value of coaching skyrockets IMO.

Do people forget how poor his rotations and various other things were for a huge chunk of the season?

What has Kerr done during the regular season to deserve the award?

No, we don't. I mean a few goofy Florida posters, sure, but the majority of us do not.

Even if you're going to argue for someone other than Kerr, Donovan isn't someone who comes to mind.

Donovan didn't deserve it because OKC struggled and blew so many late leads in the regular season.

That and he was always changing his rotations trying to figure stuff out.

His team broke the record for wins in a season.

He didn't win it last year when he deserved it so they gave it to him this year.
