They're $240 compared to Easton, Mizuno for $150

Nope. Not even close to it if you can find a quality glove $100 cheaper. A glove that's made with a little higher quality won't make a kid suck any less.

I had one back in high school. Very good glove once you finally break it in. It was the hardest glove I ever had to break in though.

If you are spending that kind of money, get an A2000 instead. IMO they are better.

For the 150ish gloves I like the Louisville Slugger and Rawlings.

Nakona gloves are solid. I have one that's like 20 years old, but if it's for a kid I would just get one of the above.

Assuming this is for a child? No way.

Try to find a glove that will break in easily. It can be really difficult to break in a glove at age ~10. He won't use it forever, so the payoff isn't even there. Higher priced gloves tend to be harder to break in.

Best glove I ever owned (back when they were $150 compare to $60). If the price is no object, it's worth it. Is it the price difference better, probably not. If you're a buy American first, assuming it's still made in the USA like was back in my day, then probably.

Personally I preferred my Shoeless Joe over my Nokona, IIRC it was $80 or so less. If you are ok with that price range though go with the A2000, it's a superior glove to the Nokonas.

My son's birthday is coming up and he wants a new glove.

He will use the glove almost on a daily basis so I don't mind spending money on a good glove.

At the same time, I don't want to spend 100 more dollars on a glove if it's not worth it.

Exactly the opposite of my experience, mine needed almost no breaking in. That was almost 30 years ago. Also, as on poster pointed out, if this is for a child, don't spend the money. If it's for a high schooler or for you, then it may be worth it. Mine was a softball glove and it lasted me until one of my nephews managed to lose it

A2000 is just as good and will break in much more easily. Rawlings heart of the hide is another one to look at in the same class of glove.

If you're gonna spend that much, wear what the pros wear... Wilson or Rawlings.

If you want to buy 1 glove for a career, Wilson A2000 or Rawlings Pro Preferred. If you just want one to go play league/catch, the $60-75 Mizuno will work very well.

How old and what size glove ?

The best deals are on Amazon Warehouse (it is their return/open box division)

Some examples -

Mizuno Pro Limited 11.5 $216 or $188 depending on color(sell for 500 at Dicks, probably 300 on ebay) LINK or
LINK

Wilson A2000 1786 11.5" $188 or $150 depending on color (normally 250, but could maybe find around 150 elsewhere online) LINK or Robinson Cano model - LINK

Probably some more deals there, just got to dig around a little.

Could also try GameOnCloseouts in Praireville, he has some cool stuff sometimes. Here is his FB link LINK .. his other webiste redirects to the Ebay Store
