Huh? You must have been a real master debater. What does tax evasion have to do with gay marriage or abortion? Are gay couples evading taxes now? Tax evasion is a crime. Being gay and getting married is not. What moral high ground?

Our country just legalized gay marriage and abortion has been legal for over 40 years. Let's not try and pretend we have any moral high ground anymore. I bet if he was caught smoking weed there would be a rush to defend him.

Phil has been well known, for years, to bet heavily on practice rounds to better prepare himself for the pressure of the actual tourney round itself. As in serious money. And while most serious gamblers do pay some amount of taxes, as complicated as his tax return must be for normal income,he almost has to pay taxes on his gambling income, too. He's not been charged with anything here.

And what I've read recently suggests that Phil won't face any criminal charges.

It will be interesting to see how Finchem and the Tour respond or don't respond.

I thought it was just illegal to be the bookie in this situation.
