So is McElroy the second string QB or are Tebow's teammates just hating on him because it's Tebow? I love McElroy because he's a former starting QB for Alabama who helped lead us to an undefeated season and a national championship, but even I know his limitations. Do his teammates seriously think that he should start over Tebow? And if they do is that based on his skills or their jealousy and bitterness over the attention Tebow is getting in the press as a back up QB?

I actually feel sorry for Timmy. I know everyone loves to hate on him, but he keeps his mouth shut in the media and is all about the team every time somebody asks him a question about it. I don't get why his teammates are hating on him other than the fact that they are in complete denial about their situation.

It is extremely obvious that many NFL players have a burning hatred of the attention that Tim Tebow gets. A reporter called Mark Sanchez "Tim" during an interview for Christ's sake.
That said, I don't understand why they are so angry at Tebow. If they were as marketable as him, they'd be taking all of the attention and money they could. They are angry at the wrong people. The players comments should read like a book of insults at the reporters constantly bringing up Tebow, not Tebow himself.

Herein lies the problem the media and overzealous Tebow fans have created for him.
By all accounts Tebow is a good teammate who works hard and never says a bad thing about anyone. But here's a back-up QB causing dissension in the locker room because they're tired of answering questions about him and it's hit a tipping point.
Tebow is probably a better option as a back-up QB than the likes of Byron Leftwich or Matt Leinart, yet no one is gonna want the Tebow circus on their team because of the shite that's predictably happening with the Jets.

And Tebow is worse. 29th in QBR last year, 34th in completion percentage. And he had two good WRs with Denver and a good head coach. Jets have no good WRs and I don't see Ryan being able to completely switch the offense to favor Tebow.

Nailed it. Tebow didn't ask for it but that's the situation created by the media. Everywhere he goes, unless there is a top 10 QB in front of him, there will always be these problems.

It's amazing. Y'all are like moths to a flame, hyping any Tebow story to show he sucks and then bitching about the constant media coverage of a backup QB. The reason there are so many stories on Tebow is because fans eat it up like candy.
He's the backup QB for a bad team. The starting QB undeniably sucks. I really have no vested interest in whether he starts, but I don't think its the worst idea ever. I mean, Sanchez sucks. Tebow sucks, but can at least run. Why not give it a shot? You're gonna lose anyway.
But what amazes me is how any thread on Tebow automatically seems to go three pages. Just ignore the guy, he'll go away. Hey, we already have a new Tebow named Collin Klein, and he's pretty fun to watch.

Going to have to disagree with this. Have you seen Sanchez's quarterback rating? Just over 70, ahead of only Weeden,Skelton and Cassel. Tebow would cut down on turnovers and definitely make the run game more effective.

I said he sucks, too. He does suck. No one is arguing he is good other than Skip Bayless, a professional media troll. Yet y'all keep falling for it and engaging in the argument. This is perhaps the first Tebow thread I've posted in all season, I just wanted to point out the reason we have have tons of Tebow threads is because y'all never get sick of talking about him.
Stop feeding the beast. If you want Tebow to go away, stop linking to stories about him and stop talking about him. Then, he'll go away. But you can't obsessively follow this guy's career, finding every article which shows he sucks, and then complain about the media's coverage. You are demonstrating you WANT more Tebow coverage.
