It's a double-standard, but it's unlikely that race has is that much apart of it as you're insinuating.

To those in power (University, place of employment) each person has costs and benefits, which determines the overall value. Some people are more valuable, and whether right or wrong, they can incur greater costs than those who are less valuable.

I bet Arizona wouldn't have released Floyd id he was having a great season, and I can understand that even if it doesn't always seem right.
