According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Red Sox and Marlins are discussing a deal that would send Carl Crawford and a prospect to Miami for Hanley Ramirez and Heath Bell.

this is exactly what i feared when i opened this.

pretty risky move for miami with carl crawford most likely having surgery in the off-season.. but it could be a high reward..

i just got carl crawford back on my fantasy team and hate to see him with miami.

There's no current discussion involving Crawford, Ramirez and Bell, ESPN.com's Buster Olney reports (on Twitter). The idea surfaced briefly as a concept and immediately died.

If they actually take Bell back along with Hanley, I wouldn't think much at all. He'd be getting paid a hefty salary to be a setup man negating Crawford's bloated salary.

Heard the potential deal has already been axed. Not sure by which side.

People throw anything they hear on there and report it as fact, to "break the news"

They discussed it, then they stopped discussing it.

Pretty simple, imo.
