Damn, guess I overestimated how many recruiting fans we have on here. I guess I know now why there's not multiple recruiting boards haha

USC is having the least hyped NSD I can ever remember. We're not expected to close strong this year.

SEC fans have heart failure if you post about non-SEC people on their recruiting board. You'd think we were discussing ISIS recruitment or something.

That's a first. I'm used to every top 100 player west of Texas committing to USC every NSD haha.

Yeah, last year was awesome. Sark was a very good recruiter. There's just no excitement with the program right now, probably has a lot to do with our boring head coach.

Wisconsin traditionally churns out classes ranked in the 30's and 40's by major recruiting services.
You'll typically only see a couple players in each class with four-stars next to their name. This year is a bit different. Wisconsin, I believe, has eight or nine verbal commits that are ranked four-stars by at least one major recruiting service.
Unfortunately, Wisconsin recently lost out to Texas for Lil'Jordan Humphrey. Wisconsin got a surprise OV from him January 22nd weekend. Was rumored the had mom's stamp of approval, but it's difficult for a school like Wisconsin to lure a player out of Texas with a UT-Austin offer.
Wisconsin also had current commit, Garrett Rand, visiting UCLA. No new news came after that visit and Rand's parents say they expect Rand to stay with his Wisconsin commitment. Additionally, Justin Wilcox visited Rand last Thursday. I am assuming no news is good news... or so I hope.
Wisconsin has a QB, Kare' Lyles that is committed for 2016. He has enrolled at Wisconsin and is the son of a former Badger player. Coincidentally, his younger brother, Kayden Lyles (2017), is also a Wisconsin commit and the family recently relocated from Arizona to Wisconsin.
Erik Swenson recently committed to Oklahoma. He wanted to go to Wisconsin, but there was no more room and Wisconsin could only offer him a Greyshirt. Even if someone de-committed, or a Plan A option (i.e. Lil'Jordan Humphrey committed elsewhere), Wisconsin was not going to increase that offer. They already have a couple very good linemen committed in this class.

Any predictions on what the top 5 classes will look like? Can Ohio State holdoff LSU and Bama?
Depends where you look, but the consensus seems to be that it will be LSU/Bama then OSU. The team rankings can be comical at times, but LSU is going to sign 22+ ESPN Top 300 guys this year. I believe Bama has the record with 18 or 19. That is absolutely insane. I understand the team rankings are focused on the top recruits, but given how often recruits fail to pan out, the depth of LSU's class is absurd and should bode very well going forward.

Is Clemson supposed to have a really small class this year or are you guys gonna load up on NSD?
Posted on 2/1/16 at 11:29 am to slackster
LSU is going to sign the greatest class ever and Rivals will still find a way to put Bama #1. It's comical and honestly hurts the integrity of the rankings.

How many are you expected to take? I saw you only have 13 right now? I was expecting some huge classes after those sanctions were lifted.

My biggest complaint with Dabo is his scholarship management. We always take small classes because he's handed out scholarships to 2-3 five heart players each year.
If we're able to close like we hope, we're gonna have one of the best star ratings ever but will likely not crack the top 5 because of our low numbers.
Right now we're waiting on Gary, Simpson and 2-3 DBs so max of 22 total.

Updating my ranking prediction:
1. LSU
2. Bama
3. Ohio State
4. Florida State
5. Michigan
1. LSU
2. Bama
3. Ohio State
4. Florida State
5. Michigan

I think 20 is the number they're looking at. The problem is we're missing on a lot of the guys we really wanted (Asiasi, Boss, Juarez, etc) They'll all end up at UCLA. I think we close with Jack Jones and possibly Connor Murphy, but I'm not too confident on some of the others.

Crazy. You're going to need a really good close to even get close to that 20 number.
I'm still holding out a slight hope for either Boss or Asiasi. I don't expect them to end up at UW, but I didn't expect Byron Murphy to either.

Like most I was pretty eh about yal's hire. Is he not translating overly well on the crootin trail? Obviously it's early, but are initial returns not great?

I am very jealous of you guys with Feaster. He is going to be a star before it's said and done.
