She was chosen along with Tracy McGrady and Bill Self.

She only played 6 seasons in the WNBA and was a 1x all-star. She retired at age 29.

Her career averages in those 6 seasons were:

6.7 ppg, 4.1 reb, .407 fg% in 19.2 mpg

She won a gold medal at the Olympics in 1996, but she was one of the last off the bench and only averaged 3.7 ppg.

It makes no sense.

She was real good in college and that's a more important bar in women's basketball. Also she works in the media, so that helps.

There are a lot of good college players. That doesn't make a Hall of Fame career.

She is pretty much the George Washington of UConn women's basketball. I'll allow it.

The Naismith Hall of Fame is incomplete until WNBA Superstar Diana Taurasi is in it.

With these credentials and that jump started the UCONN dynasty?

She helped lead the Huskies to the 1995 National Championship with an undefeated 35-0 record. In her senior year, Lobo was the unanimous national player of the year, winning the 1995 Naismith College Player of the Year award, the Wade Trophy, the AP Player of the Year award, the USBWA Player of the Year award, the Honda Sports Award for basketball, and the WBCA Player of the Year award.

She had a great year in college.

That alone is worthy of the Hall of Fame?

How did she jump start that program, exactly? By having an all world senior year?

ESPN, Geno, and others have had a bigger impact

UCONN women's basketball is bigger than the WNBA.

Pretty much. She was a basketball icon for women my age.

She was a superstar in the '90s and helped popularize the women's game. Probably before you were born.

It's also time to keep an eye out for Kelsey Plum as well. She already set the all-time women's scoring record, and single season women's scoring record. She was approaching Pistol Pete's total career points in the process. She's a shoe in for the HOF off of that IMO.

Would you consider the women's game to be popular?
