For the record, I do think Jordan is the goat and lebron is number 2.

However, I wonder how much his mystique/branding factor into the convo. I.e the Jordan logo, the shoes, the tongue, and him basically being the most iconic American athlete ever. He basically created the entire "sneakerhead" culture and paved the way for the mass marketing of athletes.

Jordan never lost a game. How could anyone else be #1?

I don't know.

I think, however, that the entire OT can agree on the fact that behind Jorda and Lebron, Renaldo Balkman is the clear #3.

A shite ton.

Jordan the player and LeBron the player are very, very close. The people that think LeBron isn't even in the conversation are heavily swayed by the mystique of Jordan. Both his impact on the game of basketball and his impact on society are a huge reason he's considered so untouchable by so many.

Nice qualifier.

Everyone knows that Jordan won the finals every year that he was in the league.

It's insane that Jordan is 4th in career points, while only playing 6 NBA seasons, think about how crazy that feat is.

Wait, I thought he only played in 6 seasons? What else is this 6-0 that I see everyone talking about? He played 6 NBA seasons and won the finals every season, right?

Dude, he won when it mattered. Nothing except the finals matters.

Oh, I see. We're somehow trying to diminish a 6-0 finals record in 8 years.

I keep seeing Jordan 6-0, which I'm assuming means that he only played 6 seasons and he won the finals all six seasons. Am I interpreting that wrong?

So, he played in 8 seasons? Shouldn't it be 6-2 then?

6-0 is great.

Why did he fail to get to the finals so much though?

Do his losses before the Finals not count?
