OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Ray Lewis offered advice to Colin Kaepernick on Tuesday, just days after the Baltimore Ravens consulted Lewis about signing the free-agent quarterback.

In a video posted to Lewis' Twitter account, the former Ravens linebacker suggested that Kaepernick become quiet about his social activism.

I ain't got nothing against you. I wish you the best in life," Lewis said in his message for Kaepernick. "I hope you chase whatever God got for you to chase. And once again, I applaud what you stood up for, because I'm in the streets every day."

Lewis, a two-time Super Bowl champion with the Ravens, said he prays for Kaepernick and has the quarterback's name in his Bible. He also called Kaepernick a "brother for life."

"If people really want to help you, if they really want to help you, man, they'll pray for you, brother," Lewis said. "They'll lead you the right way and stop encouraging you to be caught up in some of this nonsense. The battles you fighting, brother, people way before us have been fighting these for many, many, many years."

And if you do, have someone in your posse destroy evidence.

Well that's an ignorant statement to make. Ray Lewis is the founder and chairman of the Ray Lewis 52 Foundation which provides economic and personal outreach to the disadvantaged youth of Baltimore and hosts multiple events in the city and, from what I know, he's put his money where his mouth is. I'm inclined to believe this post was submitted to discredit Ray and his positive impact on his community bc he isn't in full lockstep with Kaepernick, who's currently unemployed and not doing squat atm.

No trust me ray Lewis isn't a fan of the police. He is in lockstep with kap, he just doesn't agree with the method, just the goal.

Big Whoop. Everything Ray does is from convenience. He's not making a sacrifice. Don't shine the lights on someone's deeds unless he or she is making a true sacrifice.
