Raiders are destined to suck forever. The tuck rule game just killed their franchise

Shaub is 10x better than anything they've had playing QB the last 10 years.

I want to know if Houston is really considering Fitzpatrick as their starter. He's a good QB but I think he's not any better than Schaub, Looks like they were just trying to clear some payroll

I wouldn't think O'Brian would want to carry on the "one step forward, two steps Kubiak' mantra...so I hope not.

I'd still feel bad for them.

I thought it was some sarcastic response due to my comments about Dwight in the rockets thread

Raiders are going to give up a late round pick AND pay him 11 million this season, instead of waiting for the texans to cut him

It's insane how fast people turned on Schaub.

He's been to the pro bowl twice. He lead the NFL in passing one year. He is not a bad QB, or at least he wasn't. I'm not sure what happened to him last year, but a fresh start could do him some good. If he plays like the pre-2013 Schaub he is easily a top 15 QB IMO

I think Fitzpatrick will probably start the season as the starter. By the end of the season though I think Bortles/Manziel will be the starter. Fitz is brought in mainly for cheaper veteran leadership.

They were going to cut him, the Browns made an offer, the Raiders offered more.

This is a great move, and I'm not a big Schaub fan.

But he's better than what we have, and no we aren't paying him 11 million, his cap hit is 14.5 and base is 10, the Texans are eating a pretty good chunk of his remaining contract.

This gives the Raiders a manageable QB for a year, while we can now either A. Trade the #5 pick for more picks, or B. Draft an OL with #5 (Mathews or Lewan), or C. Draft Sammy Watkins.

This proves more than anything that teams like the Raiders that need a franchise QB, have no faith in this years QB class with 1st rd picks, or that they think they can get a steal later in the draft (Maybe Manziel in the 2nd rd if he is there, Murray/Mett/Carr later rds).

Watkins or Lewan/Mathews are the better picks, get a QB next year or elsewhere, don't gamble with the #5 pick for once Raiders. 3 excellent players to take if we don't trade in those 3 guys I mentioned. I'd prefer Mathews or Lewan.

It's a combination of both.
